Michigan is the only blueblood......

    Football blue bloods who have won an NCAA basketball championship: Florida, Michigan, Ohio State

    Schools with 900 football wins: Michigan

    Schools with a NC in all four revenue sports (football, basketball, baseball and hockey): Michigan

    Apparently, we need a new term for the greatness that is Michigan. We are truly in a category of one.

    Speaking of one, that's the number of football national championships Michigan has won in the last 60 years.

  • These blue blood vs blue blood arguments are pointless. To say one blue blood is better than another blue blood is ridiculous.
    We're all blue bloods for the same reason. In the end there's really no comparing.
    Apples and oranges IMO.

    Yeah, those 8 national titles pre-WWII are impressive.

    When it comes to college football, the true bluebloods are Harvard/Yale/Princeton/Michigan/

    No doubt. Dominating the 1900-1920 era then living off of it for the next 90 years has to be pretty fun.

    Hell, one could argue Minnesota, Michigan State, and Ohio State have all been better programs the last 75 years than Michigan.

    The part about the all time records against the blue bloods again ignores my point, which is that Alabama has no rival in the top 8, so our number of games is very low (too small of a sample size).

    #2
    I ran an analysis of the top 17 programs records against one another some time ago

    #3
    Top 4 teams (your suggestion - the Cali schools vs. UA, Tenn, LSU, GA) SEC 22 wins PAC 23 wins 3 ties

    #4
    Your argument is so stupid.

    #5
    The SEC has a Big 6 which is what makes it so tough. You randomly chose to pick 4. Well I choose to pick 6
    New numbers once you do top 6 teams from each conference SEC 41 wins PAC 31 wins 4 ties

    #1- Taking out USC's yearly blueblood rival ND (since Alabama doesn't have one)
    USC (34-21-3) 61% 58g (13-6-1 road) - 20 road games
    Bama (17-20-2) 46% 39g (3-6 road) - 9 road games

    So, despite all the excuses you made for Alabama, they still fall far short when playing other bluebloods.
    USC (w/out counting ND) played nearly twice as many games, won 2x as many,
    all while playing 2x as many road games. Sucks for the Bama fans, but Alabama's scheduling vaginitis
    has deprived their fans of seeing as many blueblood match-ups as fans of other bluebloods have enjoyed.

    #2
    Of course you did, since by stoping at #17, you eliminated Arizona St, Washington, & UCLA which are like #18, #19, and #25 or around that. The reality is those 3 schools are pretty much the same thing as playing Tenn, Auburn, & Georgia over the years. Just look at the 14 games UCLA and Tennessee have played and obvious
    that there's little difference between the 2.

    #3- No comment here except,
    Scoreboard!! California leads 23-22-3
    California 4 are better than the Top 4 from the SEC

    #4
    Considering you are about to be shown how Ohio St has been more in the Pac12,
    than Alabama and Florida have been in the same conf all these years (see below),
    your argument about how the big 6 is so tough, isn't just stupid, it's far beyond that,
    it's straight retard.

    #5- Wasn't random, there are only 4 California teams in the Pac12
    (Ca 4 vs the best 4 in the SEC - Head 2 Head & the SEC lost - sorry)
    Here's the problem with the SEC. They don't play the Big 6,
    they play like the big 4 and a half, and this explains what I mean.

    The SEC formed in 1933, so starting with 1933,
    Alabama has played this many games against the Big 6
    (= 5 cuz you can't play yourself)
    The 5 teams combined have a 64% win pct.
    ===================================
    Florida 29g / 10 road
    Georgia 41g / 20 road
    LSU 61g / 32 road
    Auburn 65g / 11 road
    Tenn 79g / 40 road
    ==================
    64% 275g / 113 road games

    Now watch how it only takes 4 teams, to play nearly the same amount of games
    Bama played vs the Big 6
    (The winning pct of the teams combined = 63%, basically the same as Bama's opp)

    USC since 1933 (USC plays ND every year
    plus top 25 Washington, ASU, and UCLA)
    Combined they have a 63% win pct.
    =============================
    73% N.Dame 77g / 37 road
    58% UCLA 80g / 40 road
    61% Washington 77g / 37 road
    60% Arizona St 29g/ 15 road
    =====================
    63% 263g / 129 road games

    Now add in the games Bama & USC have played
    (minus ND for SC) vs the bluebloods.
    ==============================
    Bama = 314 games / 122 road games
    USC = 321 games / 149 road games

    Your analysis was obviously wrong.
    USC not only played more games against but they played nearly 30 more road games.

    A team (ASU) who has only been in the PAC for 34 years
    played just as many games vs USC as Florida and Alabama played = 29.
    Hmmm, 79 years - Florida vs Alabama only 29 games?

    You can have the Big 6 or even El Gigante 6 all you want,
    but if you don't hardly play, then it doesn't count for shit.
    That's why the Big 6 idea is a fraud. Not because the teams are a fraud,
    but because a lot of the Big 6 in the SEC rarely play each other.

    Heck, USC and Ohio St have played 23 times since 1937.
    That's almost as often as Alabama and Florida have played.
    In fact, of the 29 meetings between UF & Bama, 7 of them were CCG's,
    so they were not part of the regular conference schedule.
    Which means in 79 years, the SEC schedule called for only 22 games
    between Alabama and Florida.

    USC & Ohio St have played 23 times in the last 75 years.
    So using your logic of the Big 6 (Lmao), then this is USC's Big 6 =
    USC, Notre Dame, Ohio St, Washington, UCLA, Arizona St
    (3 of the top 8 and 6 of the top 25) which trumps the
    SEC big 6 (1 in top 8 and 6 in top 20).

    Wow I really, really wish that I hadn't left for spring break already and still had my computer. Washington was on the list of 17 by the way. Arizona state? You've gotta be kidding me. And putting Ohio state on your list? Regardless of games played, this argument began with conferences. You can't all of the sudden bring in outside teams. There is so much awful logic in your post that I couldn't possibly address it all on mobile. I am very confident that sometime over the course of the week and a half that I won't have a computer, you will produce a very long analysis that fails to refute any of my actual arguments or facts. It will only change the parameters to fit your goals, just as this post of yours that I've quoted did. You refuse to admit you're wrong on any point. Instead, you move to a new one. It may make you feel better, but it hardly qualifies as good debate and it's a waste of everyone's time.

    There are many measurables that could be used to determine which program is the greatest of all time...while Alabama fits some, it does not in others...this could be said about the other blue bloods mentioned.

    All of the top programs have been "lost in the desert" for varying lengths and eras of their history, including Alabama. How quickly you forget.
