both. depends on what I can get my hands on. My bottle selection might be number 1 nationally. My rep who handles queens, brooklyn, manhattan and all NJ told me that it's not even close as far as bottles go. I always have an IPA on tap and Old Rasputin is on permanently. I have 20 permanent and rotate out the other 20.

I keep the usual suspects for the beer drinkers that aren't that savvy and rotate out 20 exotics for the geeks like you and me! :) 90 min is on permanent as my imperial ipa, but i have the maharaja on tap as well.

IMO, ipas are overrated. They're all the rage and people drink them mostly for the ABV which I don't think is right or fair. A beer should be appreciated for it's color, smell, feel and taste, not just the ABV. When I give these so-called "ipa lovers" blind taste tests, it's amazing how many choose the other beer I put in front of them. Founders all day IPA (low abv) is a walk off homer. Beers like pliny the elder and kbs have cult followings akin to Absolut in the 80's and Grey Goose of today...there's better out there.

I could show you some WILD imports such as the Madamin. Belgian style sour cherry from Italy. Drinks sweet, but finishes like a gobstopper! The gose I have in a bottle is stupifying... The US has caught up to the rest of the world, but the rare Germans and Belgians still reign supreme and they're not about to be unset from that throne for quite some time.

I get your point, but i still prefer a DIPA hopped to hell and very Boozy to about anything else.

I know I am on a large and top-heavy bandwagon there, but it is what it is.

DIPA's are popular because they are good. The hipster beer drinkers stop liking something the second they start getting popular.

I don't believe so. Number 1 right now is Ebeneezers and we can top him due to the food he puts out. His beer??? There's NOBODY better and he has 36. It's not quantity, it's quality. I ran the Ginger Man in NYC and we had 71 on tap there, but we got away with it due to massive volume.

I've been to the places like Yardhouse, World of Beers, Fox and Hound, Flying Saucer and just biggrin when I walk in the door. Their big time beers are Dogfish Head 90 min... they have on tap beers like Hoegaarden, Blue Moon, Bud, Heineken, Miller Lite, Stella Artois, Sam Adams, etc...

We pride ourselves in carrying top of the line stuff and the rarest to get in all of America. I mean, let's think about it. We were the first to put on Stift Engeszell Gregorious in the US??? It's the 8th Trappist of ALL TIME and there hasn't been one released in eons. 961 is going to be on tap in 2 places...Lebanon and my bar!

I think that's a pretty good starting point.... I'll never beat Chris at Ebeneezers for beers. Never and neither will anybody else. His beer cellar alone is worth 5-7 million dollars. He has one bottle that was made in 1902 by King James I and is valued at over 750,000 dollars!!! Brewers from Europe send him beer to see if they should market it in their country!!!

He's Yoda. I'm just trying to be Luke Skywalker, bro....

As far as atmosphere, food, experience and beers? Novare Res is better IMHO.

bow... If in jersey, I will follow through with a visit

  • Less calories = less alcohol. Reccomendation: drink liquor (Mainly vodka) straight. Usually 1 shot ( 1.5 ounces) = 100 calories. If you can't drink it straight just give it a small slash of coke zero or whatever

  • Thank you much, fellas and I'll send you guys some pm's where I'm located. I think you will really enjoy it. I was sooooo freakin' tired of going to sports bars and having coors light jammed down my mouth and pissed to beat hell going to beer bars and having to look at one 19" black and white tv to see a game of syracuse vs rutgers in football when texas vs texas a&m was on...

I vowed I would open a place with great beer, great whiskey, great food, lots o tvs and hot women!! And I did, but I want to open multiple locations throughout the northeast and then branch out to the south and midwest.

I love IPAs, but typically the west coast IPAs with more of a citrus taste to them. I'm a sucker for anything Lagunitias puts out (and would take their daytime as a low ABV IPA over All Day from founders and their Sucks is one of my favorite from this year. I do agree with what you are saying on the IPAs. Most of the ones I like are in the 7% range with Sculpin leading the way. I do like Founders and many Michigan beers a lot. If you can get me some Bell's Black Note I might fly to NJ.

  • All Miller beer sucks... Try a Michelob Ultra Amber.

Great for a bratwurst bath as well. Hope that helps the diet.
