    1. The picture formatting = painfully awful. Takes away the humor of the board. See V-bulletin.
    2. Multi-Quote

I like the thumbnails. Hated the way TOS did it. Had to scroll forever through a bunch of huge sigs. Thumbnails keep it clean and easy to read.

Multiquote is just as bad. Why would I want to quote 5 people just to answer one person?

If you mean a multiquote to address different opinions from different people selectively, then that would work. Not the multiquote feature from Rivals though. That is the dumbest thing I have ever seen on a board.

I think he means the ability to quote a single post from multiple people so that it allows you to address multiple questions in one post.

I'd like to see that feature.

As for the thumbnails, I'm not a fan. At least allow more than three per post IMO.

  • Also, unless I'm just ignorant to using this board, is there a way to underline/bold/italicize words in a post? If not, that should be added.

I believe there is a way to do it but I am not sure how. I have seen it done though.

As far as quoting multiple people it is easy. Just copy and past there quote and paste it in with someone else's quote.

Bold is the following without the spaces around by the brackets

    [ b ] bold [ /b ]

^^^^This^^^^^^^ I HATED those multi quotes. Some would take up a whole "computer screen". It was ridiculous.

    Simply the best

  • I have been directed here from some rants @ the MSU board. It would be nice to have an option of loading a page with images loaded, or to keep the thumbnails like they are now. Some of the most memorable threads are image laden and simply more entertaining without having to click through every picture. In these cases, the current 247 approach neuters the hilarity.

From my own unscientific investigation, using IE8 (cookies and cache removed) and my crappy satellite internet service, I found the following counting how long it took to fully load these pages:

    (this page) http://247sports.com/Board/30/Mods-Latest-update-on-these-two-developments-2252205/1 - 70 seconds

    http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=172&f=3725&t=1884620&p=1 - 75 seconds

    http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/p/25937995/Need-this-picture-touched-up-for-my-Moms-work-website-please.aspx - 64 seconds

The 2 foreign/non-247 pages are loaded with (somewhat) full scale images, ani-gifs, etc. They didn't take any longer to load than the ads on 247. But, honestly, how funny would these be if you had to click to load each image?

p.s. There has also been some expressions that it would be kind of 247 support to at least acknowledge receipt of emails. I have only sent maybe 2 or 3 ("respectful" emails) over the past year. I have received a response from the sales end, but never the development end. If I am a paying customer (as I am), I would expect some acknowledgement. If that acknowledgement could also come with some expression as to the merit of the suggestion, or difficulty in addressing it, that would be icing on the cake.

I agree with all of this. Please consider allowing the loading of full sized images. Being a paying customer, this is the type of service I would hope my payment would implement. This image referenced above http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=172&f=3725&t=1884620&p=1 is DAMN funny when viewed without clicking. Clicking on thumbnails spoils the effect. It's like some nerdy dude telling the punchline to a story you worked hard to setup--you'd just like to beat his ass....
