Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX

  • Anyone have this phone? I'm thinking about getting it. Yeah, it doesn't come with ICS (Android 4.0) but I'm sure it'll get the update later this year.

    I'm mostly interested in the BATTERY: 21 hours talk time, 16 days standby. Has the ability to play 2.5 days of music, 15 hours of video, and 8 hours of straight internet. Crazy.

    Plus it still has duel 1.2 Gig processor, 1 Gig ram, etc.

    Seems too good to be true, is it?

  • Maxx and Galaxy Note are the best phones out right now, IMO. Neither have ICS, but both will get an update. I don't even care about ICS to be honest. I've played around with the Nexus and... meh.

    How many blades does it have? That will really determine how close it shaves.

  • I have this phone and just got it about 1 month ago.

    I love it. Battery is everything they say. I have to actually try to get it below 30%. You could work on it all day and not be near wifi and it MIGHT go dead, still unlikely then. It is Fast on 3G and VERY fast on 4G, which I connected to for the first time today at the doctor.

    Cons: About the only thing I can possibly think of is that the screen will go black like a computer screen a little to often for my liking. It ill freeze occasionaly, fixes itself very quickly though.

    I give it 8.5 or 9 out of 10. I give nothing a ten because nothing can be perfect. So that is dang good.

    Any other questions i will try and answer.

    All of this is true IMHO.. Personally I say 8.5 out of 10.. I just ordered this phone.. It should be here next week sometime.. I will know alot more then. The tester phone I played with for a bit sold me on it.. I had to have it.. Seems like an incredible phone.

    You absolutely can put ICS on a RAZR MAXX right now. xda-developers release custom ROMs for all types of Android phones. I just checked their RAZR section and they list 6 different ICS ROMS for the Verizon RAZR MAXX.

    Just to clarify, these are NOT official Motorola signed ROMs. However they are compiled from ICS source code that is given out free by Google. Look at them as being 99.9% complete. Also, custom ROMS have way better features than official ROMS (built in CPU gov., agressive ram management, pull down toggles, fast charge capabilities.....lets you apply full voltage 1.5 volts to the phone instead of the standard 0.5 volts, overclock the cpu, underclock, undervolt, overvolt, etc. on and on and on)

    It is very sturdy. Gorilla Glass, and kevlar backing. It would be sufficient with a screen protector with that, I went ahead and bought an otterbox defender as well though.

    Edit: It is a large phone, if you have small hand that could be an annoyance, but if you have larger hands your good.
