This is somewhat surprising since I am a huge sci-fi fan but I have never seen any of the Aliens movies.

    Crazy I know.

Whaaa?? Go. Watch. Now. The first 2 are excellent on many levels.

The foghorn sound effect is one of those things that is perceived as being copied because it was such a big part of Inception but the couple of times it's used in the Prometheus trailer isn't quite the same. Similar, yes, but it's brief and a good bit more subtle.

I actually like the composition they use in the Prometheus trailer. It's perfect.

It has been used in 70% of the trailers I have seen since that Inception trailer.

I know they are all a little different but still similar enough. I just think it is being over used.

I actually heard something like that used in the District 9 trailer too. It was the sound the ship made but still similar.

For some reason they have just never appealed to me.

I will watch them eventually though.

The first 2 are classic cinema. Both are in the top 60 on IMDBs top 250.

Prometheus looks solid. Why does every trailer do the same thing that Inception did with the music?

My two most anticipated movies are The Dark Knight Rises and The Hobbit.

The DKR should be great, and I am very excited to see the hobbit. Moon was very different I thought the story line was very good. I was quite surprised by the twist, I had no idea what was coming at the end.

I heard it's still the Alien "universe", whatever that means. I think we may actually see hints of the aliens at the very least, though I could be wrong.

I just read that Scott has signed on to do two Alien prequels......I guess I will just have to hope that he does and the next one is actually the prequel.

I'm in the same boat too, they just never appealed to me either. I guess I will have to check it out, if only to watch them before I watch Prometheus because that looks epic.

I really hope that's true but I think I'll enjoy Prometheus even if it ends up not being related to the Alien movies.

The first one is one of my favorite movies. Given that it was filmed in 79 or 80, the special effects are surprisingly good.

  • You guys really should watch Alien and Aliens. I'd put them in the same boat as Blade Runner, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Terminator 2, Empire Strikes Back and all the other must-see sci-fi films

  • Have you guys seen the trailer for Chronicle? It is my most anticipated movie of the year and it looks great. They're kind of ruining it by showing do many sneak peeks of the movie, but I'm still going to se it.

I love Ridley Scott and so I will definitely go see it. I had just gotten so excited about another Alien movie that it is a little bit of a letdown. I am also extremely excited to see what Scott does with the new Blade Runner.

Yeah I am going to watch it.

I have always liked Ridley Scott and Blade Runner is amazing.

I am really interested to see what he does with Blade Runner.

It has been a while since Scott has made a quality movie

I just recently saw the trailer and can't decide whether or not it interests me. I am in the same boat with The Hunger Games. It is probably because the trailers that I saw were the initial ones.

The fake documentary thing is really overdone now.

I'm stoked for the new BR. Honestly the more I think about it the more I do wish Scott would do a sci-fi movie that's not a part of the Alien universe.

I just think he could bring more fresh ideas to the big screen than more Alien movies, not that I think they are stale or anything.

Me too. One of the few R-rated movies that my parents didn't care if I watched. It's still one of my favorite action/sci fi movies.

I agree I would like to see him do something fresh.

I know he would never do it but I would love to we him adapt the Mass Effect series. That is some of the best sci-fi I have seen. Would make a great film.

It really has. And I just read that he produced The Grey. I might have to see that now.

The only time I have ever liked it was Cloverfield

It really worked with that movie.

Prometheus looks kind of....interesting. They don't show enough in the trailer to get me excited about it. I'm glad they didn't show the whole movie in the trailer, but I need more to decide if I want to see it.
