The only time I have ever liked it was Cloverfield

It really worked with that movie.

I liked Cloverfield, but at some points it gave me some bad headaches, which was annoying.

I agree I would like to see him do something fresh.

I know he would never do it but I would love to we him adapt the Mass Effect series. That is some of the best sci-fi I have seen. Would make a great film.

I'd love to see Mass Effect on film because that and Bioshock are my 2 favorite games. I think under the right direction it could be better than Star Wars, but I won't get my hopes up.

Bioshock is the same way. It needs to be done right or not done at all.

I am really interested to see what he does with Blade Runner.

It has been a while since Scott has made a quality movie

Blade Runner is another one of my favorites and I was very excited to see that Scott was doing the new one. I just do not think it would have been the same without him.

Off topic but are you going to check out the new show Alcatraz?

It worked well in District 9 also.

Both of those would make amazing movies.

Bioshock has the best atmosphere of any game I have ever seen. It would take a great director to not make it cheesy on film.

I forgot about District 9 because it was mix and match.

That might be my favorite sci-fi movie ever. Such a unique take on the alien genre.

Probably not. I am not big on those type of shows.

Really the only tv I watch is on HBO or AMC. Except for Community.

  • You guys see the trailer for "A Cabin in the Woods"? It's being produced by the almighty Joss Whedon.

I have never been into gaming but most movies that have been based on a game have been cheesy.

Yes they have. That is because they get shit directors and studios don't give them a proper budget.

There are a few games that would make amazing movies.

So far there hasn't been a decent movie based off of a video game.

Agreed. It has to be dark, twisted, definitely rated R. With Guillermo Del Toro doing the sets/cosmetics and Christopher Nolan directing would knock it out of the park. Too bad I don't work in Hollywood huh?

So true and that's why so many great would-be adaptations will never see the light of day.

    Sounds like a horror movie.

I am not a big fan horror.

Also just because it is being produced by Joss Whedon doesn't mean it will be good. Guys like him getting a producing credit all the time without actually doing anything.

It is produced by JJ Abrams so I have to give it a chance. I do agree that shows on HBO, Cinemax, and AMC are usually better, probably due to them not having to water them down for general audiences. Speaking of AMC....when is The Walking Dead supposed to resume?

Yea that one looks weird. Not exactly sure what it's going to be like.

    He also wrote the script.

It is a horror movie, but it's different. Go watch the trailer.

Yeah. It was close to being made with Gore Verbisnki directing but he dropped out because the studio wouldn't give it a big enough budget.

Yeah, it's a unique horror which is what makes it so appealing to me. I just don't want it to be flop like most horror movies.

The only reason District 9 got made was because the Halo movie fell through.

    Sometime in February I believe.

I'm impatient but I'm glad he turned it down. Not worth the effort if you can't go all out.

I honestly think that Del Toro could make any movie look amazing. Pan's Labyrinth was unbelievable.

This...Walking dead starts Feb 12 pretty jacked about it. And I agree the only tv shows I watch outside of those channels are 30 rock, Parks and Rec and The office (kinda just because). I watch portlandia and poor decisions of todd margerate but thats IFC, totally different.

It was ok I mean it was a bit lame towards the end but I didn't mind it. As far as mockumentary sci-fi, I actually liked quarentine. It was a good storyline iyam.
