None of those school have violations and they don't recruit the problem kids. Yea I'm sure they aren't totally clean, but those schools don't cheat like some other programs.

I guess you forgot about Corey maggette

Don't be naive. Those schools recruit the same players everybody else does. Coach K has World Wide Wes on speed dial, just like Calipari. The only difference is K has the tact (or cares what people think enough) not to have WWW sitting behind the bench or visiting the locker room.

  • Very, very few college basketball coaches sleep peacefully at night.

"Blue Chips" wasnt that far from the truth. Probably even easier now.

It depends on what you consider is a "problem".

These kids are 1-and-dones, 2 at the most.

Get them in, get as close to the Final 4 as possible, and send them on their way. Gladly at that.

The problems, as of now, are worth a shot at the Final 4, cause the kids are gone, sooner than they got there.

  • I am glad that FSU rarely has players that leave early. Even though it would be nice to sign a guy like Andrew Wiggins who is a FSU legacy.

Yeah, but its hard to win consistently without them.

Well, now it is. I didnt have a problem with Cal at Memphis.

UK was hard enough to recruit against already. Add Calipari, and it gets stupid.

Now, in our area, you're getting the leftovers pretty much from the North Carolina schools, and UK.

And Cal tries to eat all the good players up.

Name a big time program who's theme of the last two years is losing, looking awful, death of their legend, and then the unveiling of the facts that the program is in utter turmoil with the players basically running amuk.

Did you read that article? All I got out of it was that UCLA had one player that was a d**khead, and they underacheived. Outside of that it was pretty standard procedure.

This kid was going to Los Angeles end of story. UCLA is going to be something serious on the court next year.

There wasn't jack in that entire article that doesn't openly go on at every single basketball and football program in the country. All that hype for nothing. Seriously, did you guys forget that UCLA is one of the winningest programs in college basketball history and ALWAYS, no matter what, pulls in a top-10 class? One of the lamest threads ever.

  • UCLA signed a great bball player? Im shocked. They mustve paid the kid!!! Sure they've signed the best player in the country more often than any other program in the history of the game, but those were all just lucky pulls. This time they paid him..

It certainly makes more sense for a bunch of elite football players to sign with an FSU program that has been average to mediocre for the last 12 years...FSU = obviously clean, UCLA =dirty all day

  • one more thing..if youre trying to say UCLA is the premiere college Bball team by comparing them to a football program, Notre Dame is not way to go anymore. The proper phrase would be UCLA is the Alabama of College Basketball..Bama has won National championships based on every method of determining a champ..They were champs before the poll era, won 7 ap/upi tites and now have 2 BCS titles..No doubt Bama will win a plus one title once that becomes the standard...

I don't think that is a good comparison. Alabama's greatness has spanned multiple decades and multiple coaches. UCLA had the most amazing run in the history of college basketball that lasted 12 years. And they had Sam Gilbert to thank for most of that.

Outside of that stretch at the end of Wooden's career, UCLA has been a solid program, but not a great one.

Im not saying UCLA is the Bama of Bball. Im saying if you want to say they are the best by comparing them to a football program, dont use Notre Dame. Alabama is the standard now.

This is why the entirety of CFB hates Alabama fans. This a level of dickbirdness that only Bama fans seem to get to. It's impressive really.

So not allowing black players to come in and play against the tide until the 70's didn't give them an advantage? Gtfo with that garbage Alabama should be honored to be compared to UCLA bball.

Bama: won a bunch of titles in the 60-70's, won one in the 90's and two recently.

UCLA: won a bunch of titles in the 60-70s, won one in the 90's and three final fours recently.
