I'm just glad I was able to get to JC before the end of the year. I liked the lists that some of us posted last year for albums of the year.

Nope, sorry. I checked out Portugal. The Man and they seem like a band I could get into.

I have heard of Titus Andronicus in the past, but I couldn't get into them. For me, Japandroids>TA.

    Love me some Television

    Television-"Little Johnny Jewel, Pts. 1 & ...

This is a bonus track from the re-release of Marquee Moon on September 23, 2003. This is Television's first single (released 10/75) before "Marquee Moon" was released. Marquee Moon is the debut album by American rock band Television, released in 1977. While often considered a seminal work to come out of the New York punk scene of the late 1970s, the album differs from conventional punk in its clean, textured guitar-based arrangements and extended improvisation. As a result, it is also often cited as important to the development of post-punk and New Wave genres. While critically acclaimed at the time of its release, the album failed to garner commercial success. Marquee Moon has been ranked highly in many "best of" music lists.

Not having to do with 2012, but I recently heard this cover. It is real good even though rock covers of rap songs are NEVER remotely tolerable,

That girl's voice is also used in this song. She is good. Not too sure if you guys like rap though.....

Cool. Where do you find cheap vinyl A^2? The flea market is my go to stop for good condition, cheap, old albums.

Local used/new record stores, local bookstores, and local antique shops. I'll sometimes buy a new record of Amazon.

I need to get a good quality record cleaner. Most of my used records are in good condition but could use a good cleaning.

  • Kicking off end of the year list time

MyNameIsMyName's Most Disappointing Albums Of The Year:

    - The XX: I was looking forward to this one more than any other that disappointed me. In one word: Boring. 1 or 2 songs I liked and the rest I can't even remember (even if I listened to it 10 minutes ago)

    - Band Of Horses: I knew this was going to suck once I heard the preview. The band I once loved just doesn't exist anymore. Now they play generic dad-rock, smh.

    - Gary Clark Jr.: What happened to the awesome jamming blues-rock from his EP's? This seemed like bland soft radio
friendly fare. Get back to rockin Gary

    - Gaslight Anthem: I didn't hate this album but it was not that good. They seem to be moving too far from their punk roots. Again another band that seems to be trying to play more radio friendly "mainstream" music and getting away from what makes them good.

  • OK, finally posting my 2012 favorite album list.
I limited it to a top 19. Many of these could be ranked a lot higher depending on what mood I am in.

    1. Frank Ocean - Channel Orange : I think it is the best album of the year clearly. I will see if it holds up as a classic by this time next year.

    2. Killer Mike - RAP Music : my favorite rap album in some time.

    3. Django Django - Django Django : damn this album is infectious. Kind of like how Holy Ghost! was last year for me.

    4. First Aid Kit - The Lion's Roar: great Americana

    5. Japandroids - Celebration Rock

    6. Father John Misty - Fear Fun :former member of Fleet Foxes, check it out if you liked them.

    7. Cloud Nothings - Attack On Memory : loud but melodic rock.

    8. Divine Fits - A Thing Called Divine Fits

    9. Sun Kil Moon - Among The Leaves :

    10. Action Bronson - Blue Chips

    11. Chromatics - Kill for Love

    12. Perfume Genius - Put Your Back N 2 It : Frank Ocean may get all the headlines but Perfume Genius gets the Honda commercials

    13. Beach House - Bloom

    14. Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend!

    15. Tame Impala - Lonerism

    16. Baroness - Yellow & Green

When I get my list up, I'll have to show some self control and limit it to around 20 like you did.

Btw, did you hear the recently released Wiseman by Frank Ocean? Stuff like this and Channel Orange are the reasons why he is going to be on everyones list for 2012.

This was supposed to be in Django Unchained. I guess it wasn't. Great song! It deserves a like! Lyrics: Wise man closed his mouth Mad man closed his fist Young man shows his age Judged man called it sin Bad man don't exist, no No evil man exists Good man don't exist, no No righteous man exists Sad man cannot cry in a place where man can see Never witnessed father weep This old man thought it weak But strong man don't exist No undying man exists Weak man don't exist, no Just flesh and blood exists But your mother would be proud of you I bet your mother would be proud of you The beast will crawl this Earth Then fall in the dirt to feed the crows They'll rip apart his flesh 'Til all that's left is glorious bone So you'll bury your own Too vain You saw it unfold What you know And you claimed all you could hold Until death did you part from the mess you made I bet your mother would be proud of you I bet your mother would be proud of you Primate sharpens tool To thrive and survive in the jungle Maybe hearts were made to pump blood Maybe lungs were made to flood I won't blunt my blade for cut these chains Rather let my limbs be drug through mud You're my brother but your eyes are cold You're my sister but your womb is bare I bet our mother would be proud of you I bet our mother would be proud of you Bad man don't exist, no evil man exists I know good man don't exist, no righteous man exists Strong man don't exist, no undying man exists Weak man don't exist, no just flesh and blood exists Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?omxdpu92atx7mw6
