Did anybody get the A$AP Rocky album? I'm liking it... reminds me of some old "Murder was the Case" era snoop at times.
This track gives a head nod to an old C-Murder and Snoop Dogg track that I remember from when I was like 10 or something like that
I like it a lot. I just thought there was going to be some kind of extra track because he pushed back the "official release date" after it got unofficially released late last year.
I guess he just wanted it to be a 2013 release.

Smooth were an influential rap group from Mount Vernon, New York. They made their debut in the rap world with their 1991 EP, All Souled Out. It sold moderately well enough to justify Elektra Records clearing the way for 1992's Mecca and the Soul Brother LP. As a producer, DJ Pete Rock (Peter Phillips) tended to prefer obscure soul and jazz sides for sample sources, frequently making use of horn-driven hooks. Lead vocalist CL Smooth (Corey Penn) tended to be philosophical in his raps, and he mostly avoided profanity. Their signature hit was They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.), a dirge for fallen friends--namely Troy "Trouble T-Roy" Dixon, a member of Heavy D & The Boyz, who died in 1990. 1994's The Main Ingredient was the follow up, and they appeared on a string of guest appearances for remixes, soundtracks, and other works. Public Enemy, EPMD, Heavy D and Johnny Gill were among the artists they collaborated with, and they can also claim credit for producing (and performing on) Run-DMCs 1993 comeback single 'Down with the King'. Despite all this, the duo failed to go gold on any of their own releases. Separating in 1995 (shortly after a well-received Sprite TV commercial), they eventually reunited on a handful of cuts from Pete Rocks solo recordings: Soul Survivor (1998), PeteStrumentals (2001) and Soul Survivor II (2004). They also went on a brief reunion tour as a warm up for their then-anticipated new album, which ended with a show at London's famous Jazz Cafe. Despite these intermittent collaborations, the pair has exchanged dismissive comments toward each other in separate interviews, disavowing plans for a full-fledged reunion.

N.W.A. "Appetite For Destruction"
N.W.A. (Niggaz with Attitude) was a Compton, California-based hip hop group widely considered one of the seminal acts of the gangsta rap sub-genre. Active from 1986 to 1991, the group endured controversy due to the explicit nature of their lyrics. They were subsequently banned from many mainstream U.S. radio stations and even at times prevented from touring - yet the group has still sold over 9 million units in the U.S. alone. Their second album, Straight Outta Compton, marked the beginning of the new gangsta rap era as the production and the social commentary in their lyrics were revolutionary within the genre. Rolling Stone ranked N.W.A. eighty-third on their list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time".Although largely unknown at the group's inception, rappers Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Eazy-E, MC Ren, and The D.O.C. would all go on to be platinum-selling stars as solo artists.

Ty Segall and Mikal Cronin - Take up Thy S...
"Ty Segall (solo work, Sic Alps, Epsilons) and Mikal Cronin (Okie Dokie, Charlie and the Moonhearts) bust out a 10-track delight of psychedelic garage jams that is sure to please the most scrutinizing rocker. Equal parts danceable garage rock and effects-ridden psychedelia, "Reverse Shark Attack" is a mind-blowing explosion of loud guitars, pounding rhythms and signature vocal harmonies. Ty and Mikal balance perfectly between Soprano and Baritone vocals, making for an outstanding listening experience. The B-side is a single 10 minute Beatles-esque medley that starts off weird, gets mellow and folky, then explodes into a Ventures-induced headache of smashed drums and wildly vibrant surf guitars. Definitely a winner, and nothing like either of their projects have done before."
