My Pick On Cotton Bowl

  • No time to do a separate story on it today, like yesterday (when I picked Fiesta SU and ATS ... like it was difficult or something).

Today's game is much more difficult though.

Friday, Jan. 4: Cotton Bowl (At Arlington, Texas): Texas A&M (10-2, -3 1/2) vs. Oklahoma (10-2), 8 p.m. (FOX) -- Heisman winner Johnny Manziel and the Aggies go up against their former Big 12 South nemesis Oklahoma and their stellar QB Landry Jones.

A&M reeled off five straight wins to end the year (including a 29-24) shocker at Alabama. Its losses were to Florida (20-17) and LSU (24-19). Oklahoma also won its last five games. Its losses were to Kansas State (24-19) and Notre Dame (30-13).

Oklahoma leads the all-time series 19-11 over A&M. The Sooners won 11 of the last 13 meetings, including 41-25 last year at Norman.

This should be a fun shootout on the fast track at Jerry World. He who has the ball last laughs the loudest. Give me Oklahoma 38-35

Yeah, stellar QB Landry Jones is a bit much. Kind of like, "we have no one better so he's been the QB for 4 years," Landry Jones.

I do think OU can take this one. Having a Fr QB that was sheltered from the media all season having to deal with all the Heisman pub could make it very tough to prepare like he would want to.

Should be an intense game though as both teams are hungry. It is Dallas, where the SEC doesn't seem to ever lose and the Cotton Bowl has just been completely owned by the SEC. Of course, OU doesn't seem to lose much in Dallas either recently, but they do usually only play Texas there.
