My take on the TR/MD debate....

  • You're just not going to find a stronger, more power-style back in CFB right now. Trent is a weight room warrior and an absolute freak.

Dyer reminds me more of Ingram than Trent does.

I agree that Richardson is an "A" but I think Dyer is about an "A-" as he was right behind Lattimore for the #1 RB in the 2013 NFL Draft. Now with Lattimore's injury, along with Knile Davis now likely being in the 2013 Draft [as opposed to the 2012 Draft due to his ankle injury]......Dyer may very well be the #1 RB selected in the 2013 NFL Draft.

If a RB goes in the 1st round of the NFL Draft [especially if he is the #1 RB selected] I think he has to be considered an "A-" back.

No doubt about Dyer being #1 or #2 rb in the 13 draft. Great back that has all the tools. So glad Lattimore and Dyer aren't in the same backfield.

One thing you don't see a lot in the AU offense that may hurt MD is they hardly ever throw to him. He is turning into a good pass blocker, but have not seen much from him in the pass game. I would think that has to come into play with his eval. TIFWIW

Agreed. I would like to see him getting the ball in the air and not just screens. The number 1 difference in a NFL back and College Back is their ability to pass block. And Dyer has that, which is a fantastic plus.

His hands might be a question, but they can work with him on that.

I'm not sure if his hands aren't good or if its just that the coaches think omac has better hands and is better out of the back field...we will never know dyers catching ability because both will be graduating after next season

Dyer is graduating next year? I know he's leaving early but is he graduating?

OMac has bricks for hands. I love the kid, but cement blocks are attached to the end of his arms.

  • I don't think they are in the same league. Trent is the most impressive RB I have seen in a while IMO. In high school, he was the strongest man in the state of Florida, winning the state weight lifting competition and he finished 4th in the 100meters in the state finals as well. That is extremely impressive in Florida. That being said, I do still believe Dyer is better than Lattimore though. Lattimore is great, but not as dynamic IMO. I like Crowell better than Lattimore as well in the long run.

I agree that TR is the best back in the nation.

Dyer would probably look better behind your line too.

  • Agreed. Richardson is also a good returner when he is back there.
