My way early B1G record predictions.....

It wasn't identical at all. How many times did we go fast? hurry up? Tempo? That was a huge part of RR's spread offensive concept. How many times did RR go under center in his spread? It might of been similar but it was not identical as you have stated.

    Pretty much identical = similar.

When Michigan ran an offense Denard wasn't used to they sucked, when Michigan ran plays familiar to Denard he was good. Again check the tape, his best two games came when Michigan ran spread the most.

I'd say UM, MSU and Nebraska have a fairly equal chance at winning the Legends actually.

    I agree with this.

lol I am not arguing against that. I am just saying we did not run RR's spread. We had a new system and there were growing pains. We still won 11 games.

And our offense was already pretty good. OSU's was dreadful last year, that paired with learning a new system spells trouble IMO.

No problem man. I was just saying your arguments just sound a lot like what we were hearing before last season.

Fair enough. I just don't see the Buckeyes putting together a good offense this year, and don't see them winning 10 games.

Offense is the least of the Buck's problems. We hung 40 on them last year. 40. And we were in year one with a new staff and new offensive scheme. Imagine what we are going to do to them in year two!

lol I don't expect much until we have a new qb. Just another 9 win year and taking an ass kicking in a new years day game. Pretty much identical to last year is my guess for us.

And OSU was an overthrown ball from beating you with statistically the worst OSU offense in a very long time. buckeyes

It's not our problem your QB can't throw.

I like Nebraska, but man don't you guys have someone that can throw the ball better than Martinez (he can run really well though)? Love your running backs and defense though.

Edit: and yea I know that Denard is not a great passer.

  • this is strange because Nebraska is going to win the legends division cool

    signature image signature image

    Husker14675

  • legends division will be close...msu and um are the faves, but neb. could take the division...um/msu winner goes to the B1G title game....um wins at home and faces whisky...

leaders division is all whisky (osu will have a good record, but ineligible)

um vs whisky....if i had to predict now id say um (because of denard), however, whisky should be able to control the line and run right at their weakness...as the season goes on maybe my opinion will change, but for now, um....

side note, osu wins 9-10...tough games are at msu and at whisky...neb and um come to the shoe and thats a well needed advantage...

  • OSU won't win 10 because their offense is held back by their OL. Might just be my bias, but OSU's OL should be horrible, and you can't win many games without a good OL.

It wont be horrible, just thin. Now if they get a substantial injury, then thats a whole other ball game.

  • OSU has the easiest schedule we've played in at least a decade. That alone makes 10 wins a very real possibility.

signature image signature image signature image

    Sir Mix A Lot

  • Everything that could possibly go wrong for Osu last year did. Suspensions, injuries, more suspensions, true frosh QB and a substitute teacher as a Head Coach. Osu did not have formal summer conditioning last year.

Osu should have been blown out by the B10 teams theyd been beating up on for the last decade, but instead every game was a one score game.

I agree that there is usually a transition period that cannot be discounted, but theyll be favorite in vegas in every game they play.

???? why does everyone think the o line will be terrible?

it will be average in the B1G, not as good as msu, um, whisky, neb and maybe psu, but certaintley better then nw, ind, ill, purdue, and maybe iowa...

osu will not be running right at teams like in the past, meyers spread puts playmakers out in space and utilizes braxton's running ability...the o line will not have to blow d lines back or pass protect longer...

but there is no depth, so if shugarts, mewhort or hall get hurt it could get ugly
