Yikes. That's your achilles heel then.

No. Only an FSU fan would see names he doesnt recognize and think they cant play. FSU has big name recruits every year and it hasnt seemed to allow them to win the ACC. Alshon had a down year last year, and we finished with 11 wins. We only throw the ball around 15-20 times a game. I expect more out of this team than I did the one last year. We're gonna run two TE's as well..and we have a fantastic TE corp.

SEC online fapping at its best. Do you really believe that the SEC East will go 26-2 out of conference, and the west will go 27-1 out of conference? Take another rip off the bong.

Your weak flame aside (we beat you guys and have owned the SECE of late) that is a weak WR unit. A 5'8 lead receiver, a guy who's mostly just fast, a two sport athlete, and a stud Fr. I understand your defensiveness but it's weak.

This has been a discussion on here as of late and FSU compares very favorably to LSU. Despite the SEC circle of protection.

You're right...FSU won. We lost our best player to a blind side hit, had 6 turnovers, and you still only won by 9. I am more confident in the WR corp than I have been in a long time. When you have a deep corp and someone that can spread the ball, that's a helluva lot better than having one standout WR that you force balls to 15 times a game.

Favorably and better are two different things. FSU's DL may be up there with LSU but it isn't better.

Not to mention, is there a better run D statistically than what Saban trots out there annually? It's not always the most talented, but the numbers are there.

You're right. Lattimore saw him coming and Reid just won the battle. blank Lattimore trucked tons of players that had 40 pounds on Reid. It was good hit, but Latt never saw him.

  • FSU is very, very talented. When/if they put it together, they'll be a force again. But they've got to win the ACC before they start barking about the SEC. It's ridiculous that Clemson has their number like they do, and I just cannot figure out why a team with so much talent can be so mercurial every year. If you put a leader like Saban in Tallahassee that kept his team level and focused for a whole season, they'd be scary.

As for USC, I can't imagine we'd go 11-1 next year, but stranger things have happened. We will be very stout defensively, and playing UGA in the middle of the year favors us I believe. I think Shaw will be in rhythm, Latti's knee will be battle tested, the WRs will have worked out the kinks, and any defensive issues will be shored up (see last years team...first three games were awful, then a top 10 D in the nation the rest of the year).

As always, the UGA game will be hard-fought and close. I figure we'll win it at home, but who knows. Thing is, we could win that game and still lose the East b/c UGA once again got a favor from Birmingham and avoids the big 3 in the west. Although, I still think Mizzou catches UGA looking in Week 2.

don't know about east, but the west has taken care of business the last few years ooc.

    2009 - 26-3 (bama, au, arky, msu 5-0, lsu 4-1, om 2-2)
2010- 27-2 (bama, lsu, msu and au all 5-0, arky 4-1, om 3-1)
    2011 - 24-3 (arky, msu 5-0, bama, lsu 4-0, au 4-1, om 2-2)

this include wins over a&m, va tech, mich st, penn st, oregon, texas, wvu, ok st, north carolina, virginia, clemson, etc.

i lied a little, i do know about the east, just didn't feel like doing the yearly breakdown.

here's the east's totals for those years (09-11)

    South Carolina (13-2-0)--0.86667
    Florida (13-2-0)--0.86667
    Kentucky (11-3-0)--0.78571
    Tennessee (10-4-0)--0.71429
    Georgia (10-5-0)--0.66667
    Vanderbilt (7-6-0)--0.53846

    total - 64-22 (.744)

averages to about 21-7 each year.

Which is a far cry from 26-2 (.900+ WP). And its not like the SEC added two titans of the sport to its ranks - Mizzou and A&M were added because of geography and lack of threat to the league's football hiararchy.

Who else would they lose to. There isn't that many to lose, honestly. Florida to FSU, Kentucky to Louisville, Ole Miss to Texas, and Auburn to Clemson.

The only others that I could see would be Vandy to NW or USCe to Clemson, maybe.

  • also, a&m has gone 8-3 ooc the last 3 years (3-1, 3-1, 2-1, respectively), with all 3 of those losses to sec member arky.

    mizzou has gone 10-1 those 3 years ooc, (4-0, 4-0, 2-1, respectively).

so the sec isn't really adding weak ooc teams.

That's just a ridiculous line of logic. I understand why you would say that though and it's reasonable you would say it but UGA will be HUGE, experienced, and relatively deep in the front seven. Moreso than Bama

I don't know man, Mosley has been a star for two years, Nico has been ballin' for three years, Hubbard and Dickson have shown they can get it done at Jack and Sam..then factor in Dillon Lee who has turned heads this Spring on a team used to 5* LB'ers, and Ryan Anderson

And while we lost two really good NG's, we moved one of those DE's who is just as big and started last year (Williams) to NG, with our other Ends returning. So our front 7 will still be great.

To think Bama won't field a top 10 D this year is ridiculous.

Plus, when you look at who aTm and Mizzou are playing OOC, there is very little chance of them not going 4-0.

I don't think the non-conference record is that crazy. It's not like everyone is playing more than one team that has much of a chance of beating them anyway.

I don't even factor Lee or Anderson into my thinking. I want to see it on the field in a game first. They will only be a positive addition in my mind until then. I honestly doubt Anderson gets on the field much, but Lee is a definitely possiblility in my mind.

Williams is actually a good bit bigger than our NG's from last year. Chapman was a stump of a man an right at about 300 and Gentry was maybe 280. Williams is 6'4", 325 and much more athletic than either.

I know a lot of people were wanting Ivory to step into the starting role, but I was silently hoping for Williams to get moved to NG. He will be able to push the pocket from up the middle and follow the play to the outside as well.
