My way, way too early top-10 for 2013

Nope...sorry it wont happen. They couldnt score in the Big12 and they may be improved, but that does nothing. Top10 teams win 10 games, and TCU will not win 9

maybe maybe not. I am certainly not married to anyone I put in the top-10. I will do another post bowl poll after everyone has declared, and I am sure it will look much different, then different again in the summer.

Those guys all have/had superior physical attributes. That is what got them drafted. None of them really lived up to their physical potential while in college. EJ will get drafted off of his measurables, not his QB actual play on the field.

Yeah EJ only threw for 3000 yards this season and over 7000 for his career. He sure did not do anything since he was at FSU. I wish he could have had the talent around him that Barkley had with all those five stars and finish 7-5.

Just guessing, but I think it has something to do with OSU at 6...I predict we'll preseason 1 or 2

I would put Ohio St's odds of getting to the mnc game, probably higher than any other team in the nation. In no way, shape or form do I believe at this time that you will be one of the 2 best teams in the nation though. Very good team playing a very weak SOS. So I don't disagree that you will have a high pre-season ranking by others, because most unqualified pollsters like to predict the final rankings with their pre-season rankings and factor in how tough or weak a teams schedule is. I do no such thing. I have 4-5 PAC-12 teams in my top-10, but in no way will there be that many at the end of the season due to the extremely tough SOS's.

Bro, you play in the ACC. An absolutely terrible conference. You played the 69th ranked SOS. To put that in perspective there are only 60 teams in the 5 major conferences.

    1. Stanford
    2. Oregon
    3. Florida
    4. Notre Dame
    5. Alabama
    6. Ohio St
    7. LSU
    8. ucla
    9. USC
    10. tie Texas, TCU, Oklahoma, Oregon St, South Carolina

The above takes into account some players who I think will declare for the draft, but once all that dust settles, the rankings could be much different. If Chip Kelly leaves for the NFL, then I would drop Oregon, and USC's ranking is based on Kiffin Hiring a OC who will be the play caller as well.

  • You're on crack if you think 5 of the top 10 teams (including the top 2) will be from the Pac-12.

He is a huge Homer for the pac12 as evidence by his top 10 rankings he did every week.

  • I know Mariota is great, but that Ducks offense relies a lot on Kenjon Barner as well. As you know, he's going to be gone after this season. Who is going to replace him? Everyone talks about DAT being too small to handle that many carries, so Byron Marshall? If Chip comes back I'm sure they'll still be top-10, but I think #2 might be too high. Some key guys leaving on defense too; Jordan, Alonso, Clay, Lokombo.

    And no defense.

While FSUs defense was top 5. Except against us ;)

i agree the bucks have the easiest path to the the n/c...

are they one of the best? prolly not, but definetly top 6...

we get whisky and psu at home, travel to northwestern and um and miss msu and nebraska...(altho, man a road trip to purdue could get us, dont know what it is about purdue, but they always play us tough)

should be favored in every game and just might face um in back to back weeks (although, msu and brasky will have something to say about that division too)

i dont think nd, or anyone out of the sec and pac ten will emerge unscathed so osu has a real good shot at the title game next yr...

Our offense will be better. Defense will take a big hit. We will have DAT and Marshall returning as well as two of the top prep backs coming in. Thomas Tyner will not redshirt, he will get reps next year.

Depth at RB will be short like this year but the guys we do have have the ability to keep us the top rushing attack.

I have Bama losing 3 O-linemen and 2 D Linemen, and Notre Dame losing 4 O-linemen and 1 D Lineman. So 5 each. I have Nix coming back, but if he goes to the draft that will certainly affect ND's ranking.

its 3 dlinemen & actually if Fluker leaves for the NFL it will be three OLers as well but dont let that sway you.

if Bama gets solid play at C,NT,& CB next year they will likely make a run at CFB's 1st ever D1 3peat.

I forgot about Tyner. Who's the other RB coming in? Lokombo is a Senior this year, right? I mentioned him in my other post as one, but wasn't 100% sure or not.

  • ND will be top 10 not top 5, but for the record we only lose 2 olineman and that 1 dlineman that we lose is a 5th year who plays a very sound. 3-4 end but the guy behind him being a true frosh this year is more talented already. The 2 running backs will be the hardest to replace but we got the USC transfer(how you can like both I have no idea) who played very well as a freshman for them. To be fair I'd agree with some that 'bama should be top 2 or 3 every year just because...

The other one is Dontre Wilson. Also an All American high schooler but only weighs 170 so likely won't have the immediate impact tyner can.

We are also recruiting a 3rd RB in this class on top of those two, likely folston from Florida?

Lokombo is our lone returning starter at linebacker. He wasn't a senior. We lose Kiko and Clay though.

    cool

for me the OL really isnt a concern at all & I wouldnt be suprised to see RF Darren Lake challenge or surpass Ivory. at CB even w/ Smith we need two others to step up, one to play Smith's star role & atleast one other (Fulton or Washington) to provide quality depth.
