NBA draft discussion.....

I heard that also.. I would love that trade.

Not going to get anyone better with the #10 anyways, IMO.

Im a sixers fan. I like Turner because hes a competitor and isnt afraid of the moment. Good handle and can get his own shot. Not explosive enough to finish at the rim consistently and still needs a lot work on his jumper. It doesnt seem like Doug Collins is his biggest fan though. Still like to give him another year to see if can blossom

I want Lilliard badly.. I am actually a Rivers fan, I think he can be really good with his size and his pretty stroke, plus he's confident. Most mocks have us taking Rivers.

If Drummond falls, I would love to take a chance on him.. I don't like him as a top 5 guy but I love him around the 8-12 area.

I would love for sixers to move up to 7-8 if Drummond falls. Hes worth the risk at that point

Not many good centers in the league so taking a chance on a guy at that position could turn out to be HUGE.

They have us taking Tayshawn Taylor at #46, I would love to get him in the 2nd round.. I don't know why he would fall that far but most mocks have us taking him.. I've always really like Taylor.

This is actually a very wrong statement. At worst you have a 6'8 SF with a high release, 3 point range and a very good mid range game.

You can say you don't think he'll be a 22ppg player and an all star but saying Barnes has a low floor is a black and white wrong statement.

    Thank you, scout.

I just know I watched the kid and he looks clueless when he doesn't have a great PG (see: Marshall). He stands around and takes 20 footers when he clearly has his opponent outclassed athletically.

His game will probably me more suited for the NBA. He isn't a great dribbler and doesn't have fast feet so he struggles getting to the basket, but he'll improve in both areas and you can't deny the kid has tremendous talent. His mid range game and 3 point shooting really are good and will alone make him a good player. Don't judge Barnes off of the last two NCAA tournament games, UNC as a whole was out of sync because he wasn't just playing with a back up PG, he was playing pretty much with a walk on caliber PG. Stillman White was only on UNC because they had Larry Drew transfer and had absolutely no depth at PG so it was him or no one and they took him. The kid had no business playing at that level especially as a true freshman. Barnes also was just off those last two games and when a jump shooter is off he looks much worse than he truly is.

I admit, I am adding my opinion to that of about 10 scouts' reports I've read. And they all say you're wrong. Just saying. I love discussing shades of grey, that's why we are all here in some respect but you can't call a high floor player a low floor player.

  • I am bullish on Drummond but he's either worth it or not. He AINT NO #6-8 pick IYAM.

The kid is as talented as any that's come in the league since Kevin Durant and from a talent standpoint he's there as well. Durant just had so much more developed in terms of work ethic and go to, value skills.

You can NOT justify taking Drummond at two because the atmosphere in Charlotte would kill his chances. But D.C. or Cleveland would be perfectly brilliant to draft him.

Every mock Ive read lately has him falling out of the top 5. The motor and passion for the game concerns are legit. But could be smoke screens.

  • Rockets trade Chase Buddinger and the rights to a Euro to T'Wolves for the 18th pick. Also, Rockets are trying to trade their two other first round picks to Sacramento for the 5th pick. Sounds like they are trying to gather assets to create a package for Dwight Howard. Interesting...

Minnesota Timberwolves to send 18th pick to Houston Rockets, sources say - ESPN

The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed, pending league approval, to send the 18th pick in the 2012 NBA draft to the Houston Rockets for Chase Budinger and the draft rights to Lior Eliyahu, two league sources confirmed to ESPN.com.

Great point. Same situation too. Right out of high school (Drummond went to college a year early so he's 18) and Amar'e was a physical phenom that had no go to moves, face up game, etc.

Very interesting. Stein just tweeted that if Dwight is no-go, then Hawks Josh Smith is the next guy on their target list

it's funny bc he's on the last year of a contract. they're gonna have to pay him after this year or lose him. bad move IMO.

Didn't they draft like 4 PG's when they had all of those picks? That organization is dumb just like their football team.

I think the Pistons actually traded the pick and it's protected. Salary dump.
