  • I also have this picture of Warrick Dunn sitting next to Peter Warrick on the bench and it obviously reads " Warrick Dunn "

    Its signed by both

I have been collecting sports crap for a few years now, I have some really cool shit

I have a picture of Jordan and Pippen in dunk poses with an american flag background and the title of it is " Joint Chiefs of Stuff "

    Both signed it

The shoes cost me a Ted Williams signed baseball and 450 bucks

Tough call on the Ted Williams baseball.

But, I wouldve chose the kicks too.

That MJ/Pipp pic sounds like a nice investment too.

I always wanted a memorabilia collection, but its harder than people think to keep up with.

where do you buy stuff like that? I just don't trust anyone, so a place like ebay is just too risky for me.

He was my pops favorite player, I have another 8 or so that I will have one day ( Ted Williams ) among many other Ted stuff

Ill keep one in honor of my dad but he lets me take some of his stuff now to make trades on occasion, he is who got me started on this

The MJ/Pipp pic cost 300 at the time ( my dad got it in Barcelona during the dream teams time there ) and I have been offered over 2 grand for it

Most of this stuff is an investment so long as you find the right person to buy

I have a few places that I go to here in the DC area, its fun cause its a lot of trading type deals and I have come across so much cool stuff over the few years I have really made it a hobby

Its all part of a man cave plan when I can afford to buy my own crib

My framed jersey collection is crazy, over 70 or so already framed with another 30+ jerseys still waiting for a frame ( framing is not cheap )

All authentic jerseys too, my boy used to work for Mitchell and Ness and would always hook us up with crazy deals on jerseys and he also made is own in their factory

  • Also if you live in a major city look for shows, they always have them up here somewhere about once a month and usually somebody will be there doing autographs and whatnot

this is the best way to go about it

Yeah that stinks, but you never know where you will end up

Its certainly a really fun hobby, I truly enjoy and when my father passes on ( god forbid anytime soon ) I will take over his collection and his signed baseballs alone is legendary

We are talking just about everybody but Ruth and multiples of most, I will keep the choice stuff but I will have tons of trade bait too

These old timers love signed baseballs lol

  • Damn you got some potential serious investments with the baseballs.

I hate ARod/Yankees, but Id kill to be in that ballpark when/if he breaks Bonds'(*) record.

No chance in hell Id throw that ball back to the umps.

I'd want a piece of that 300 million dollar contract for that ball.

Yeah its a good hobby, with some serious earning potential.

Its expensive to start, imo. Then you gotta find people/places you can trust, as Nova pointed out.

I used to try to do it with cards, boxing gloves, coins, etc when I was younger. But, my family moved like 8 times when I was between the ages of 7-14.

I had some boxing gloves signed by Sugar Ray that got left in Ft. Lauderdale, and I broke down and gave everything up. They probably weren't worth much, but I thought otherwise when I was 13-14.

Yeah I have lost some stuff over the years that was just heartbreaking

Had a picture of the dream team ( a sweet painting ) and everybody on the team signed it, ruined it from driving around a bunch of drunks during a night on the town, they hopped into the back of the car and smashed it to death

probably a potential 2 maybe even 3 to 4 grand down the toilet, who knows

I certainly got a leg up in starting for I had a collection handed to me to get things started, then when I got my job I really started going hard these past few years, buying all kinds of stuff

yea I probably wouldn't get into it huge like NoVa, but some signed jerseys of players I like to decorate a man cave mostly. I wouldn't be starting a museum or anything. lol

Yeah, Kobe let me down tonight.

Looked like his legs are already giving out, and its only the 1st rd of the playoffs.

Lakers are gonna be in trouble if he has to play too many mins from here on out. His energy level didnt look good at all tonight.

lol yeah i waaaay overdid it with the jerseys

But my plan is to cover an entire wall so you can't even see the wall, in my mind it looks awesome

You would cry if you knew how much it cost me from the jersey itself to the frame

    Yeah dude, I was blown

I just looked back and there was nothing that could be done, and I wasn't about to make my friends pay for it cause it really wasn't their fault, you couldn't see it cause it was covered ( keep it from being stolen )

So I was just screwed, I only salvaged a pin that was worth 50 bucks

no and he didn't get any help from Bynum in the first half either (0 pts). Then getting down big he feels like he has to take some poor shots.

Also I wonder how much the altitude in Denver might affect him. I've never really been in the mountains and stuff much to know what kind of affect that could have on an older player like him.

You never know with signed stuff. Especially baseballs, pics, paintings, etc.

There's always someone out there that wants it more than the person in possession of it.

    That stuff is valuable, imo.
