  • Mental health test before you can buy a gun? Ok... What's on the test? 1. Do you believe in a God? UP rejected,the government doesn't recognize God anymore seperation of Religion and states and all so your nuts. 2. Has identity theft been solved? No? Well " we will get all that hammered out when we can get to it, until then take a number, and no gun for you". Ect.. Ect... No no no no no pizz off big government.

    They got what they wanted with trying to make the people believe that an assault rifle was used. They also know that most Americans will not do the research to find out the truth.

    An on top of that Jeff our general public is basically like lambs. They are just happy to follow along an not question anything. Open you eyes America this country is in a downward spiral.

    I remember watching the footage on cnn after the shooting an the reporter kept saying two pistols was used in the massacre. About eight hours later it was switched to an ar-15. This was done for one reason an one reason only! To help fuel the Presidents war on weapons.

    this must have been the same magical AR-15....

    that Obama burned in Chicago & was later mysteriously involved in a Mex drug-cartel killing ?

    How does a video from December 15th invalidate the other hundreds of conflicting reports from that same week?

    This isn't a new NBC report.

    This was one of the dozens of conflicting reports immediately after the shooting.

    Just because some stupid blog posted it on Jan. 15th, it doesn't mean that its a new report. Cmon Man.

    There needs to be common sense used in this debate and of course in Washington, where the party never stops, there is none because our "leaders" are too worried about not getting re-elected.

    Here's the deal- you have to pass an eye exam to get a driver's license. They do this so you don't go kill yourself or someone else driving a car. Make people that want to buy guns pass a mental exam. More jobs are created because of the need for psychologists and screeners and less crazy people have guns.

    Instead you have these crusades either for or against things that don't matter. Oh, I don't like assault weapons so I'm going to use the school shooting to pass my agenda. The other side then starts flaunting their pro-gun position and no sensible solution is found to the issue- crazy people should not have access to guns. This isn't a referendum on the second amendment. It's not a chance for the liberals to impose a firearms prohibition- it's a chance to make it difficult for crazy people to own guns!!!

    Look at Switzerland. They have hardly any crime at all. And they have the toughest gun laws in the world. Only there laws REQUIRE every single home to have guns. And they are encouraged to have a heavy arsenal. And they get fined if they don't have one.

    Sounds like you are describing health care in Switzerland.

    As far as gun/crime levels, I'd be more quick to point to Switzerland's cultural ethos of neutrality, not fighting, avoiding violence at all costs etc.

    As a society, they don't believe in solving problems via guns.

    USA obviously is a whole different animal; guns and violence is a large part of who we are as a people

    And this is where I (and I assume alot of people like me get bothered) --

    We dont want to take anyone's guns. I know many liberals who hunt and who have CWPs etc

    What we do want is to make our society safer for kids and the thousands upon thousands of innocent victims senselessly killed by censored with guns every year

    And the answer isnt as simple as just making sure everyone has more guns

    Columbine had an armed school guard who got in a firefight with those 2 whackjobs before they killed all those kids ..

    We need more focus on mental health and whatever specific gun policies that can better balance 2nd Am rights with public safety interests

    We limit speech in many, many ways in this country for the greater good of the public.

    There is no reason to not be able to limit the 2nd Am likewise

    Americans will still be more than able to protect themselves in their homes and beyond

    That is never going to change.

    But its not okay to think the status quo on gun violence in this country is acceptable in my book

    dont get caught up in the semantics of the word "deserve"

    i strongly agree that when people stop working for things and start to expect handouts its a very bad thing

    (like dangerous to the core of the country - economically and morally)

    and that policies should be adjusted accordingly

    that said; for us liberals, those are important values that our society should strive for

    When did I say I favored President Bush? Since you wanna play that way how about Obama bashing Bush for wanting to raise the debit ceiling when he was president, and now that Obama is president he is all about raising the the debit ceiling. I favor no party only the right guy for the job which sad to say is not what we have now.

    You keep saying that Bush tanked the economy but who created the housing bubble that burst and was at the center of the economy tanking? I'll give you a hint, he also told Yemen that the US didnt want Bin Ladin, had an affair in the Oval Office, lied under oath, was impeached, yet is still a Democrat hero.

    I'm not taking up for Bush cuz I wasn't a fan of his but to continually repeat stuff you hear without facts just makes you look dumb.

    I could argue that Clinton was more responsible for the economy and 9/11 than Bush was even though I blame both and Obama.
