So shutting down a football program is the answer? People who are calling for football sanctions are minimizing the issue at hand. We're much beyond football at this point. We're talking about children being raped. It's insulting to hear people say that sanctions are necessary. The focus should be shifted towards the victims of child abuse and their families, not of a football program.

Football team alone make $17 billion per year for the Pennsylvania economy. Not to mention these sanctions will knock out half of the entire athletic department (no more swimming, wrestling, etc.). But what King Emmert says, goes.

If the NCAA is going to punish schools for crimes committed on campus then why did they not get involved in the murder of yeardley love at uva? The NCAA governs the rules and regulations of its members. Go read the article on espn.com from a former chairman of the NCAA
