  • I think they get to ten wins this year with a win in a bowl game. Flame away, but I think Golson is the real deal as is their front seven.

    Their secondary is melba toast, but the only teams they face with enough firepower to exploit that are OU and USC, maybe UM.

    They should also be able to run the ball fairly well. Without Reese turnovers this is a solid squad.

  • Parts of their team is built very well but they're a year away. They truly need to just use this year to find out which Fr QB is the future and play him.

  • If ND gets a QB settled in, and if a WR can step up to replace Floyd.... two big IF's... ND should be good this year. The def. has been improving since Kelly got there.

    It's possible ,may take a couple upsets but very possible. Winning Two of these would be considered upsets as of right now imo, UM, USC, OU and MSU. Stanford will be though to depending on QB play.

  • Schedule is just much too tough. 9-3 is their ceiling. That would be a hell of an accomplishment. I've been critical about how ND has the luxury of being able to undeservedly make BCS bowls because they're ND... but if they go 9-3, I'd say they clearly deserve a BCS bowl.

    Alonzo you're my dude but stop it man.Ten wins is not happening.Until Golson shows me something when he has other teams trying to kill him,I don't buy it.I'm going 8-4 at best and 6-6 at worst.

    I agree with your assessment, except the UM part. Denard is not a passing QB. Not in any sense of the word. Throwing up jump balls 50% of the time does not give you fire power. His feet on the other hand have killed us 3 yrs in a row. Maybe that's the problem. Feet on the other hand. biggrin

  • Way to tough a schedule to get to 10 wins this year. I think that Brian Kelly is a good coach though, and if they stick with him a couple more years, they will be a perennial ten win team.

    It is going to be a good game. Surprisingly, the last minute comeback last year helped secure the Elmer commit to ND. Even though he was on the Michigan sidelines, he said during the comeback he realized he didn't want Michigan to win and was not happy with the outcome even though he really thought he was open to Michigan prior to the game.

    Haven't heard of any of them but thanks for looking it up anyway. I'm certainly curious to see how Stanford does without Luck and those two first round OL'men they lost.
