Want to build a roster? Do what Saban did when he got to Bama...
Sign classes of 32, 27 and 29 in your first three years.
That's how you build a roster.

32 is on the high side, but I don't see a major problem with 27 or 29. All programs have some attrition every year.

They had the room to do it. Show me where 13 kids had their scholarships revoked and I will get on board.

I didn't say it would be ok to sign 30 players every year. But a class of 27 or even 29 once in awhile is not necessarily unreasonable. Every year? Yeah.

Bama signed 32 in '08, but only 27 made it to campus. Three didn't qualify and two went the MLB route.

Nobody that argues against oversigning even understands non-qualifiers and JUCO placements. I don't even think the SEC office folks do.

Saban knew which players will and won't qualify. We also knew Hood and Ray were going to play baseball.
Also, as JC pointed out, we signed Cody out of JUCO. Not like he is still on the team and hasn't been for two years now.
Only have eight players left from the '08 class.
