    link?

You want a link to their terrible ratings? Not that bored, but maybe later. I will tell you that since 2002 WVU has beaten Missouri in bowl ratings all but 1 time. Also in that time frame WVU beat A&M in ratings all but 2 times.

Better markets? Yes. That's about it.

I don't think anyone can say that for sure, First off one can make the argument that our very own Dana Holgorsen may find himself on Texas' radar if/when Mack is done, and If GP would go to Austin and TCU hires say Bob Petrino or a Mike Leach ect.. ( which they can afford now)does the conference take a hit or get deeper/better? One could argue that too no?

I’m sure Dana will be on the short list.

IMO Petrino will be coaching UK in the future.

TCU is not that much of a step up from Wazzu.

Sure they could, but I don’t think TCU is a big enough program to get another big name coach after/ if GP leaves.

I also left out Diaz, Texas may well have their next HC on staff NOW, that cat can coach some defense.

And saying that TCU will be on par with Baylor? The Baylor that just got a heisman trophy and won their bowl game vs. Udub? Not all that bad IMO.

When you say top 25 six times in the 2000s you are saying they finished there?

    Yes, it’s under “National Polls”.

You really think TCU as a program and facility wise is that much of a step up from what Wazzu is now?

Oh I gotta disagree, Leach would give his left whatever to get back in Texas, recruiting Texas rather than WSU or Kentucky (in Petrino's case)? All day long man L.

RG3 was an anomaly for Baylor.

I'm basing my opinions off of television ratings and merchandise sales. You're basing your opinions off of horribly flawed data.

Did you know that the article you linked postulates that Texas A&M, who until last year actually struggled to get it's games televised, has as almost as many fans as USC and Oklahoma COMBINED?

You're honestly trying to defend that. Did you not bother to look at the information he provided or are you just retarded?

    Link to TV/Merchandise data?

He is right UO actually outsells most of the country....Tamu is may be in a better TV market though.

    Forgot to include this...

It would make sense putting 3 up there if its just ND Olympic sports for now. That would get the conference back to 12. I find it interesting that Louisville is in the conversation, though.

The Big XII would never let ND just do Olympic sports.

West Virginia once again ahead of TAMU and Missouri....

Ratings, football, basketball, merchandise... I'm sure both have us in baseball. And market. We see how well it helped the ACC adding the Pitt and Syracuse "markets".

Actually its quite possible, but its sounding like ND will need to play 4 games a year against the Big 12. Also might need to "commit" to the Big 12 just in case they join a conference.

ND people saying they could see ND making the jump in football to the Big 12. Big 12 is the only conference they would join, so its not hard to believe. I'm just waiting on the FSU/Clemson announcements. They are coming now that the playoff is decided.

Good Lord. Imagine an athletic department like Iowa State paying to travel to Florida State, Louisville, TCU, and West Virginia. Hot damn.

They already travel to Austin and Lubbock.

Best idea to wait on another team that makes sense...cost too much to pay to expand more cause they are already in debt for paying to help TCU/WVU leave the big east. And its a foot in the door idea where if things start looking pretty bad for ND, and it would make sense for them to join the conference that they are doing olympics with. Kinda along the lines the Big East already had. Would have worked had Big East national powers not left for ACC and others so much. I think its dumb but smart at the same time.

Louisville is an elite basketball school, and has had more success in football the last decade than both Missouri and A&M. Who is the bargain bin team? Big 12 is going for good programs, not markets...

A&M and Mizzou are still better programs. Losing both sucked.

LOL, I linked to the numbers. They are what they are. Just because you would rather make crap up than actually look at the facts...

Big XII will make much more once the next contract is negotiated. You know that, too.

Did you not know that the Big 12 is negotiating with ESPN for a new Tier 1 contract RIGHT NOW? Did you not know that the ACC's contract includes Tier 3 content while the Big 12's does not? Did you know that Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma State are all making more than 7 million dollars per year on Tier 3 rights?

Nice name calling after crying about it earlier btw.

WVU > A&M and Missouri. Hell, TCU has been lately, too, but they don't have the history. You see what "markets" get you. A terrible TV deal, ask Swofford.

Seeing how WVU and TCU upgraded the Big 12, the only loss was Nebraska. Big 12 got stronger when Colorado left.

    Wrong.

Colorado, Mizzou and A&M were huge losses.

There is not a conference in the country that would take WVU over A&M.

  • MarineMountie said...

"Equal or weaker". More like much weaker teams than WVU.

They got taken because of markets. Nothing more, nothing less. If the SEC were wanting better teams, they would have taken WVU and VT. Big 12 is trying the SEC angle. Take better programs that make for great match ups. If they wanted markets they would have went with a team like Houston, Memphis, or a few other options out there.

Wait, what kind of market do the Houston Cougars have? It's all about the market, which often correlates with play on the field in most cases.

Doesn't matter to me. WVU kills A&M on the field, on the court, bowl ratings, and merchandise sales. Market? Like I said, check the ACC's new TV deal.

Now, I'm done arguing with you, because you never admit defeat even when facts are shoved down your throat. Have a nice evening/morning.
