NDs "investigation" was a sham. (link)

  • Got this from tos. Jesus ND is getting caught badly. Covered this up to ride the season out. Sounds a lot like penn state in terms of making football bigger than doing the right thing.

    The investigation ordered by Notre Dame was limited to the electronic search, Brown said. Investigators did not interview Te'o or his family, nor did anyone attempt to contact Ronaiah Tuiasosopo or any of his relatives.

    In response to questions, university officials said the investigators did not examine cell phone records, e-mails or other electronic communication to determine the length or extent of Te'o's
    communication over the past few years with the person claiming to be Lennay Kekua, nor did the university ask Te'o to take a lie detector test.

  • Just going to say this once more (today, anyway), but there is zero evidence that anyone did anything at Penn State with the purpose of putting the football program first. Can't believe so many halfwits go around repeating it like it's gospel.

    As far as ND investigating this, how far did they need to go? I'm pretty sure Swarbrick said they were only checking to make sure nothing happened that was against NCAA rules (e.g. impermissible benefits). Otherwise, ND would be providing a benefit to Te'o and his family by performing a full investigation. Still shady, but depending on what the true goal of the investigation was, not sure I see this as that big of a deal.

    Bull. You can say it as many times as you like, it won't change my opinion. It's pretty damn plain to see what went on up there just by looking at a basic timeline.

    But yeah, let's keep this thread on track.

  • I have no doubt Notre Dame knows a lot more than what they are letting on, and knew a lot sooner. No way the university is that naive.
