Nerd - Definition
- An intelligent, single-minded expert in a particular technical discipline or profession.
Why do people consider this an insult again? The only people that even use that phrase anymore as an insult are the dumb jocks who couldn't even add 2+2 with the help of a calculator or can't figure out why their alphabet soup only spells "Oooooooooo" (Hint: It's really Cheerios).
Because our society puts physical achievement up on a pedestal and considers it hard work (which it is). Intellectual achievement is considered nerdy and easy.
