Nebraska fans Bo Pelini..

  • Thoughts and general feeling on how safe his job is heading into next year? Do you think he's the answer?

  • This is a topic of mass debate on our board. The group as a whole believes he will not be fired for at least another year or 2. People realize he is not going to get fired after 10 win seasons. Those that want him gone were hoping he would get the Tennessee or Arkansas job. That B1G title game really messed up his plans if that was Pelini's intention.

Personally, i believe Pelini walked into a bad situation.
-The culture had been tarnished. He has restored this for the most part although he altered the blackshirt tradition slightly.
-He took good talent he was given and turned it into a great defense in '09. This proves he can coach up a great defense. Some are forgetting that currently around our board.
    - The problem lies in the fact that his recruiting has ended up being piss poor over his first 2 or 3 years. We are paying for that now with lack of depth on the lines. Most believe Bo has turned the corner in this regard, but some feel his failure over the first 3 years is a fireable offense in itself. That is not my belief. I believe that if Pelini can once again stock the cupboard full with talent, we will once again have an eilite defense. There is no doubt in my mind it is possible. The issue is strengthening the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball for Pelini and the next 2 recruiting classes are going to go a long way to determining his fate at nebraska.

Appreciate the answer. Are you satisfied with Bo's recruiting strategy since moving to the B10? Does Nebraska even recruit Texas anymore? I see them offering kids in Ohio, but rarely see them in Illinois, IN, or PA am I missing something?
