Need advice on Iphone case

Good Afternoon Everyone,
I just got an Iphone 5 and need to get a good case for it. I am prone to dropping them and my Samsung phone was beat to hell. Trying to decide between an Otterbox or Lifeproof case. Any feedback one way other the other?

Should add that I have a lake place and spend a lot of time on my boat and around the water. The Lifeproof being waterproof is why it is in the running.

My 2 yr old through my IPhone in the toilet. It's still looking/working like new.
Maybe it was luck, but I'm putting my money on the otter box.

I have a $20 incipio case I got from amazon. Worldsbetter than the otterbox. Thing added too much bulk for my tastes.

I'm a huge fan Lifeproof cases. I love that it's water proof, I have lost 2 phones to dropping them into water. I have also shattered a screen with a otter box on.

Had a life proof and hated it. Could no longer use speaker phone because people said they couldn't understand me(insert jokes), the car charger barely fit with the case and and I thought I was going to break the little door the case when I would plug it in. Also the little headphone screw will be lost in the first week. I have to Rokform case now I heart it.

I used to have a mophie case for my iPhone 4 and loved it. However when I upgraded to the iPhone 5, not having it made me appreciate the phone being lighter and less bulky. When I got the new mophie for the iPhone 5 that just came out I hated it (the way deep audio jack doesn't help) so it is gonna be returned.
Right now I have the Cygnett urbanshield case which I love as its thin and minimal but at least protects the back of the phone.
Definitely won't waterproof the phone though so might not be for you.

X2 they suck and I did break the latch.
Otter box releases a new case soon that is waterproof. its higher than the lifeproof but the lifeproof isn't worth what it costs.
Compare the materials in the two and you will see. One is just cheap plastic the other is a multilayered higher grade plastic and silicone. The latch on the new one is supposed to be metal and not some cheap azz thin plastic.

My brother has one like that. When he got it, we went out to eat and he put his phone in a glass of water at the table, freaked everyone out, took the phone out and yeah, it's completely waterproof.
