Defensive end Lorenzo Carter (Norcross, Ga.) is now the nation's third-ranked overall prospect in the Class of 2014 according to 247Sports.

  • This time around, we found more California prospects. Wide receiver Barry Ware, quite honestly, could end up being a top 30-40 prospect when all is said and done- or higher.

Tremendous playmaker with versatility. Plus ball skills and feel/timing.

Two questions about him (and I agree the film is good). First and foremost is competition level. Second- he's said he wanted to play linebacker in college, then running back- so we aren't quite sure where he projects best at.

I do think he is a prospect that can move up in time, though.

It certainly could be a terrific class.

I also expect Florida to enter 2013 with a ton of momentum, among others.

  • Great stuff, guys ...

Having seen Lorenzo Carter play twice, I'm really happy for him to get that 5th star.

    Yep. Duke Dawson is next.

Nice Grier bump, fellas. He's already saying he'll attend all the camps and circuits so y'all will have plenty of time to further evaluate him.

Grier is nasty, can't wait to see the 2014 qbs mix it up in camps.

He's going to be a late developer physically, so I can see him continuing to build arm strength and keep getting stronger/faster/quicker

  • Let me also add when talking about potential 2014 recruiting classes - Louisiana is loaded in 2014.

LSU is set up to have one of those potentially special classes - assuming the top handful of guys stay home.

I really believe Leonard Fournette is the best player (not saying best prospect as RB's can be great and not get drafted 1 or 2) in the country, period. He's a special RB prospect, but could also be Derrick Johnson'ish if he stopped toting the rock tomorrow and moved to OLB.

We just believe Noil is an elite, elite talent at slot receiver and as a return man. His lateral ability is borderline special, and has gears with burst and more burst.

We saw him at several events this past spring- big arm.

  • Glad to see Bryan Mone get that bump. Really hope he ends up at Michigan. But you guys have him as a SDE? I think Michigan is looking at him as a DT, could be wrong though.

Yeah we plan to change that soon. We really didn't know a whole lot about him until his junior film came out.

Yes. He was toward the back end of our initial Top247 for 2014 and has a rating of four stars from us. Undersized, but a great player.

Same as JC. Undersized, but a really talented player. Quick and powerful for sure.

I agree, so do you feel that Quick is lacking in the explosive department? Kid plays WR, CB, and also had numerous returns for TD's.

Nobody ranked as highly as Quick is is lacking in that department. There are some that are just better than others.

I think he's terrific too. Slight difference for us. Not major differences.
