Others moved ahead of him and it forced him down. Our analysts weren't sold across the board on him being rated/ranked ahead of a guy like Rodney Carr, for example.

We still like him as a prospect.

He's one that when we saw him at The Opening we weren't too sure of his ceiling, but after we re-evaluated him after his junior year, we think he's one of the top linemen in the Midwest and one of the better prospects in the country. Not overly-athletic, but enough and tough as nails.

    Good stuff JC, thanks.

  • Why didn't Drake Harris get a bump in ranking after having more than 2000 receiving yards this season ?

We don't grade on HS stats, but he's a guy that could definitely be a future mover. We like him a lot, but think there are more explosive guys in the class overall (see a guy like Barry Ware). Harris, for me, is very good and has to continue to not be a body catcher at times.

  • ive watched this kid play. Lattimore might be the BEST player to come out of Glenville. that goes for the 7 pros that have come out of the school. natural cornerback. best hips in the country. (at any position). he torched the best local cb while at reciever for 4 tds.

We just believe Noil is an elite, elite talent at slot receiver and as a return man. His lateral ability is borderline special, and has gears with burst and more burst.

What's the scouting report on Devin Voohries?

  • It looks like Jerrod Heard will be moving up in the next rankings. Heard went beast mode in the State Championship 7 TD's and over 300 Total yards.

Projects as a safety. Big and fast prospect. Excellent instincts. Will be a player that is probably going to shine more his second year in a program (LSU) after he settles in at a position.

We are generally extremely high on him.

Very impressive showing for sure. I am sure we will be watching that film.

Loved him at LSU camp last summer. Worked out at wide receiver. Terrific hands as ball skills. Reacted very well against very good athletes and some QB's that had D-1 arms as forced him to get his head around quick out of cuts, and react to throws not always in his catch radius.

Love the ceiling on him. Raw as a route runner, but it's a development thing and not a Q of if he can do it. Can't coach a lot of what he has, which is definitely among the best for his position in the 2014 class.

Physically, he will add muscle mass/strength to his frame to in the next 2-3 years.

Let me also add when talking about potential 2014 recruiting classes - Louisiana is loaded in 2014.

LSU is set up to have one of those potentially special classes - assuming the top handful of guys stay home.

I really believe Leonard Fournette is the best player (not saying best prospect as RB's can be great and not get drafted 1 or 2) in the country, period. He's a special RB prospect, but could also be Derrick Johnson'ish if he stopped toting the rock tomorrow and moved to OLB.

It seems like Trey Quinn moved down some. He had a monster year and really excelled at LSUs camp last summer. Is he pretty much tapped out at his 247 rank or is there a chance he could move up? Thanks for your input.
