*****Newcomers to 247, Welcome*****

  • I see we have a lot of new people on here with a lot of the same questions so to save some space, ask your questions about this site in this thread.

    The "247" (top 247 players) is made with no bias. Unlike Rivals, this site will rank players equally from the West coast to the Midwest, the South and even the Northeast.

    If you have questions you can ask them here and one of the mods/scouts will answer it almost immediately on here for you. The mods will even post in OT threads which is cool.

    Not many people flame on here. I get the sense that everyone is using the "agree to disagree" approach in arguments because frankly no one is ever going to agree on everything.

    The "upvote" system is just like the "like" button on Facebook, it has no meaning but you can't help but use it.

    They have many homesites on here but they have some teams not here yet (LSU, OKie lite, etc..), those I expect to come.

    The last few months this site has slowly grown. It use to be very, very slow but every week it seems to pick up more and more so expect the expansion to grow exponentially over the course of the year.

    The "message" or "inbox" system is great. You don't have to email mods for questions or if you need ask another poster something, you can just send them a "PM" (personal message)

    247sports also has an "ignore poster" button. A great feature if you dislike what any certain poster likes to post.

    The green board is the basketball board.

    George Washington under some poster's avatar means "founding fathers" or guys who were on this site from the get go or first few months.

    If I missed anything please feel free to chime in and help the new guys out. I am just trying to save some time and space.

    No mystery mods over here. If something gets edited, deleted, or a blacklist happens, you will get a reason from the mod.

    The analysts on this national board are the same analysts that made Rivals great. There is a reason Rivals is going downhill. 247 has these guys, and Rivals has Barry Every.

  • Follow the board feature at the top of the page (orange checkmark). Great feature which allows a shortcut in between the different boards you follow. I use it a ton. Welcome cheers

  • Upvote and thanks. New to the blue board but have been around for awhile. Usually on my team board (az) though i have been frequenting this board more and more as of late. Lots of good info as well as funny, often times down right HILARIOUS topics/discussions/posters.

    Hell, yeah. It is freaking awesome.

    Lurked over there for awhile and checked it out before signing up. It is growing fast.

    They are crushing TOS on news. It's hilarious. They post stuff, then about 30 mins later TOS gets mystery texts from mystery sources.

    I love this feature.

    Although a couple things I would like....

    1) A more thorough way to search recruits (by high school? interest in my school?)

    2) A better way to search through forums!

    It's my understanding (could be wrong) that it will always be free to post on but, over time, the articles that the analysts post from time to time will be only available to people that are "VIP" of a team site or TBB.
