The book Deuteronomy also lays some laws down, but nobody ever mentions them, but why not take a look at those laws also?
Anyone who dreams or prophesizes anything that is against God, or anyone who tries to turn you from God, is to be put to death. (Deuteronomy 13:5)
If anyone, even your own family suggests worshipping another God, kill them. (Deuteronomy 13:6-10)
If you find out a city worships a different god, destroy the city and kill all of it's inhabitants... even the animals. (Deuteronomy 13:12-15)
Kill anyone with a different religion. (Deuteronomy 17:2-7)
One must wonder why there are so many people wanting to site Leviticus for gay bashing, but they never mention these rules. How strange. It is common that a Christian will blow off these old rules with "Jesus came to change the laws, so these are outmoded, and we don't need them", but throughout Leviticus God states that these laws are to be followed forever. Hmmm.

Newt isnt winning anything. He just hates Mitt. And I like that about him. Newt is the smartest SOB out there. He is the only one that could debate Obama shot for shot. He wont get his opportunity.
Mitt will win the nomination. So Sad.

Yep. He would wipe the floor with Obama in a debate. Mitt needs to learn to speak on his feet. Otherwise, Obama will smile and rah-rah himself back into the White house. But, Obama is definitely vulnerable to a well run campaign and a candidate who can hold his ground on the stump.

You guys are giving Newt way TOO much credit. I can't remember which debate it was but Mitt came ready and tore Newt to pieces. I'm sorry, but Obama would out debate every GOP candidate and it's not even close.

I diagree. Newt would be the smartest guy on the stage, regardless of who it may be. Romney's a smart guy too, but he does well b/c his campaign has the money and resources to inform him on all the other candidates and their weaknesses. It will serve him well against Obama (Romney will be the nominee). Obama's certainly a smart guy as well, but his breadth of knowledge on some issues is lacking. His genius is in fostering his natural rock star image, which he does very well, maybe even better than Bill Clinton or Ronald Reagan. And, we live in the time when the rock star usually wins. Style over substance. And, his people are good at changing the conversation when it helps them too. They're also very aware of the ally they have in some of the media.

While I respect your viewpoint, I will never understand it. I personally know people whose #1 priority in voting is anti-abortion / anti-gay.
I personally believe that politicians are smart and they know they can talk about it all they want but if they ever do anything about it, they will lose the ability to pander that point to that voting block. If abortion was made illegal, who would that block vote for?
Why are they not upset everytime a president says they are going to do something about and don't?BetterOff

After growing up with Santorum in PA, I think anyone that votes for Santorum deserves to lose their right to vote forever.
Santorum is horrible. Socially conservative and financially liberal, bad under pressure, and makes gaffes that have made Joe Biden blush. He's anti-freedom and for big government.
How can any true Republican vote for Rick Santorum?
Oh yeah, they're fooled by his views on homosexuality and abortion. When 2 issues blind them to a politicians true views, they need to stop voting because they suck at it, and are hurting the country.

You are truly a person with limited knowledge of most things biblical. I will be back within the next hour and disprove your hypocrisy argument.
Just for starters it says in the new testament "For all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God." So i know that I am not perfect, but does that mean I can not speak my opinion about something and vote against it? Absolutely not.
I guess in your opinion though, or better yet your narrow interpretation of what the word says, I would be a hypocrite by voting for someone who stands against that when I break another one of those decrees.

no, the hypocrisy is that you pick and choose which ones to follow.
quit dodging.
the bible says it. sorry about your life, but yeah, you gonna pick one to follow, follow all from the same section. those laws were given AS A WHOLE... not as, well, this is law, this is suggestion.
so, make sure you don't mix the kind of fabric you wear.
