What is the point of the OT,if the NT is what matters?

You didn't address to me so forgive me if I'm butting in. But, the OT does matter. Essentially the NT is the fulfullment of the OT. But, that doesn't make the OT irrelevant.

I haven't read the other posts, i just happened to notice yours. I can comment more if you wish. There's a lot of intentional misreading of the Bible going on in political circles these days. If you have a question, I'll answer as time permits. I'm a novice at political issues. I understand the Bible very well.

FoxNews is the most powerful single media bastion. But, they are more concerned about speaking to their audience rather than being anti-Obama. To be sure there are some (at Fox and other outlets) who are anti-Obama. But Fox isn't a consevative only media outlet. I watch Fox more often than the others, but I watch the others as well. Fox isn't as biased as MSNBC, and isn't any worse than CNN. Even with Fox most of the media is on Obama's side.

If you include all outlets of media, it is pretty much even. Might even be tipped in favor of the right of you put FoxNews power in context.

Because the Jews observe the OT as their doctrine to live by. And it's of great historical importance. I'm not going to sit here and debate the importance of the OT and NT and which is right or wrong. It's entirely possible neither were wrong at the time they were written. I couldnt care less in what anyone believes. Each person is responsible for their own salvation.

i would say that the Old Testament is more along the lines of historical, however, it does provide a vast amount of context. There is also the prophecies that are fulfilled. But, the history, and the context are very important in order to see the sacrifice, as well as the need for such a sacrifice. The history of Solomon and David also are very important to christians... In essence, there is a lot of stuff in the Old Testament that would not be understood in the New Testament without it.

Why does homosexuality bother you? Never had an issue with gay poeple, if that's their choice then that's cool with me. I don't want governent taking away peoples freedoms.

Agree 100%. I was born and raised and currently live in Alabama and I was against Homosexuality, Mixed relationships and everything else. I then joined the Army and you see that every where, mixed relationships. It made me realize that I wasted a lot of my time hating on those people when it did not make me gain anything. If it is what they want to do then so be it. As long as it does not effect me or my family then I say more power to you. I do enough dumb @ss shit. Judge not and all that. I am gonna need all the help I need when my time comes so I say to each his own.

what you should do, is just go through the bible and pick words out of each sentence, then make up your own verses from those words, you could justify ANYTHING!

I love how you can ignore what people put better than anyone on here. Your debating skills must be up there with the best of them. I am truly sorry for ever questioning your unending knowledge, enlightened one.

so, you don't cut your hair or beard?

shut up, dummy... if you were to follow them, if you were to give ALL OF THE LAWS STATED the SAME respect, you wouldn't vote for anyone that supported ANY OF THEM, REGARDLESS OF DEBATE...

you choose one candidate based on their view of one thing...

    you, continually, miss the point.

but keep focusing on the gays, that way, if they're not around, it won't such a temptation for you

You must know me better than myself! Dang, I didn't know they were such a temptation for me.

Maybe, just bear with me here, I think it is wrong and I think it would be beneficial if I voted for someone(Which as I stated I did not even vote) who is anti-gay.

I guess I shouldn't have an opinion at all if I can't follow everyone of Gods laws. Read a little more of the bible and know that we are expected to fail.

Where did I ever say I ignored them??? Was I as strict about them as the anti-gay thing, no. Does that mean I completely ignored them, no.

Again, unless you know me personally(Which is not the case) do not accuse me of ignoring the other decrees out of Leviticus.

I have not followed all of them to a "T", neither has anyone in history. Good thing that Jesus died on the cross for my sins so I could be forgiven, and I would not be damned to Hell because I broke and old testament decree.

Here is the most recognizable verse in the new testament IMO.

then shed your clothes now... almost everything modern is made up of a blend...

what strikes me funny is that: 1) if you can't control your own conduct, by not cutting your hair, and by not wearing approved clothing, then why are you worried about what someone else is doing?

lemme introduce you to a handy verse about that: Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

and wouldn't casting a vote that has the potential to stand in the way of someone's freedom, and happiness, be sorta like casting a stone?

worry about yourself, first, man... then when you get to where you are putting the effort into following the rest of the laws that you are about the gays, then come and tell us what is right and wrong.;..

I do not believe what you consider a "Right" is morally permissible so therefore I will stand against that for as long as I breathe.

As to the sawdust verse, that is one of my favorite verses and it has a lot of good uses. I interpret it as this. Suggest what you believe is right and let them do what they will with your belief. Matthew 28:19- Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

I will not idly sit by and let people go on and do what I deem sinful without at least telling them what I believe. I can not force people to believe it, but I can show them what I believe.

    okay...

then why do you feel it is okay for you to judge what is right for someone else?

    judge not...

where are you instructed in the bible to do these things? this one will take a long time, as you are not... so...

the funny part is, when someone is pushing their ideas on you, it is terrible, and it is unconstitutional... of course, in the reverse, it is perfectly okay, because we should all be held accountable to your morals.

I am merely voting for what I believe is right.

I stated in another thread where under the current constitution homosexuality is legal. That is as much as I am giving. I will never vote for someone who is for gay marriage, even if it is "Right" by our constitution.

Can I not share Jesus' teachings with people? I never said I was sin free. I am merely saying that this is what I believe, I do not follow it perfectly as we are not expected to go without errors.

you should not be voting for someone who is going to violate the law.

D-bag said it himself... if he is president, he is gonna nullify all the marriages, laws, and etc, .and take their right away.

you are voting for someone to take away something that is not theirs to take.

the president is not supposed to be your morality, anyway...

in reality, you all enjoy the tyranny when you are holding the whip, but hate it when someone else is. the creepy religious right is what is wrong most with this country... voting morals instead of what is best for the nation. the laws are not supposed to reflect the morality of a religion, but the logic of the constituion with a premise of FREEDOM for all...

how are we ever going to live up to the word FREEDOM when special interest groups continue to try and stack the deck for whatever agenda they have? THe religious right rails against special interest groups, then makes itself one. hypocrisy?

denying someone rights because you don't agree with their morality is you just plain and simply, not minding your god damn business. Most of us true Americans don't measure our freedoms by taking other people's away, we measure our nation's freedom from the eyes of who has the least.
