Nick Saban: Denard Robinson is the best QB we've faced since Cam

Alabama's Nick Saban: Michigan's Denard Robinson the best quarterback we've played since Cam Newton | Michigan Wolverines | Detroit Free Press | freep.com

Alabama linebacker Nico Johnson admitted Monday that he thinks about Michigan QB Denard Robinson all the time, about ways to make him feel uncomfortable. He knows this wont be easy.

  • the only qb worth mentioning since cam is tyler wilson, and we were pretty successful vs him, so... congrats?

    theharbinater

  • He used the word significant, not best. Cam didn't throw ducks.

  • Gotta be PC when you're king of the hill

He says nice things about every team. He'll say something about next weeks players as well

Denards a mediocre QB at best

  • That can't be right. We just had two Bama fans on our board telling us Denard is not as good as Jordan Jefferson. shrug

What happened to all of the great academics of the Big 10 and Michigan?

Clearly these must be sidewalk Michigan fans

  • To be fair, he's probably te second best QB we've faced since Cam Newton. Maybe 3rd.

  • Even if 'Bama fans don't respect Robinson's ability, Nick Saban gets it. If you truly know college football, then you know that Robinson is going to be the most talented player on the field this coming Saturday. And if Saban's defense can shut Robinson down, force him to make misreads, and contain Toussaint, then they'll win; however, that's going to be easier said than done.

Saban on Robinson: '“He’s extremely fast,” Saban said, echoing the theme of the day. “He does a really good job of running their offense. He’s become a better and better passer each game, each year. I think that’s the real key.”

Saban said that what makes Robinson so tough is his ability to throw on the run.

“He’s always been very good at that,” said Saban. “When he breaks contain, he puts a lot of pressure on the defense. (But) I think where he’s probably improved the most is when he’s in the pocket, becoming a more consistent, accurate pocket passer and still having the ability to extend plays with his feet. He doesn’t just take off and run, keeps his eyes down the field.”'

    Why is that so funny?

Out of everyone playing in the UM-Bama game on Saturday:
How many players can run a 4.3 40-yard dash?
Of these players, can any stop on a dime and make people miss in space like a kick-returner?
Are any of these players also able to catch passes?
Can any of these players throw an accurate pass while on the run?

Denard may not be the most polished quarterback, but he has the most diverse skill-set of talents out of any player we'll watch on Saturday (that's what I mean by "the most talented player").

He also will have his hands on the ball every offensive snap for UM.

Possible exception: when he lines up as a decoy at RB or WR on a trick play.

When's the last time UM was relevant again? Here it comes the ole we have this many titles so and so and blah blah blah. Bama is going to swirl on UM. Period. It's coming.

You shouldn't be talking ish with blueblood programs; you're not on our level.

Know your place. Auburn fans talking trash to Michigan fans(, 'Bama fans, or any other blueblood program's fans) is like a yippy Chihuahua barking and growling at a pack of rottweilers.

Get on our level. Get some more history and tradition, then we'll talk.

    Until then, muzzle yourself.
