Nick Saban: Denard Robinson is the best QB we've faced since Cam

  • ScoutExile said...

    Why is that so funny?

Out of everyone playing in the UM-Bama game on Saturday:How many players can run a 4.3 40-yard dash? Of these players, can any stop on a dime and make people miss in space like a kick-returner? Are any of these players also able to catch passes? Can any of these players throw an accurate pass while on the run?

Denard may not be the most polished quarterback, but he has the most diverse skill-set of talents out of any player we'll watch on Saturday (that's what I mean by "the most talented player").

So you mean jack-of-all trades, master of none?

As Alabama fans have been told numerous times, pre WW2 doesnt count

    blue blood also blue·blood (blbld)
    n.
    1. Noble or aristocratic descent.
    2. A member of the aristocracy.

    ___________

The key is the word "descent." Ergo, the measure of a blue blood program, by definition of the word "blue blood," has to be longitudinal. Every modern Michigan team is a descendant of the 11 National Title teams and the other teams that contributed to the all-time records for wins and winning %.

  • I think Saban and the boys need to get off of their knees. All of the extra attention is not going to stop a four year starter/Heisman hopeful from performing well.

That can't be right. We just had two Bama fans on our board telling us Denard is not as good as Jordan Jefferson. shrug

hey there are idiots on both sides of the fence. Denard smokes JJ. Lets just be honest.

Looking forward to an epic battle! RTR

nope, but there have been a handful of defenses that have stopped him. msu, whose coach is a disciple of saban's, being the most prevalent.

Someone needs to send this kid to the Auburn school of what counts as a national championship and what doesn't.

  • OK- who has Bama faced since Cam?

JJ? Shaw? Whoever QB'd at Florida?

Don't think Bama's faced Murray since Cam..

Tyler Wilson- OK- and Bama took care of him quite easily..

So sure, Denard is probably the best QB Bama's faced since Cam.. not sure what that means though as Bama hasn't really faced that many good QBs since Cam

He also will have his hands on the ball every offensive snap for UM.

**quoted wrong guy. in response to the guy asking how many bama defenders run 4.3s.

On defense you don't have to run as fast as the guy. Just take great angles and be disciplined. You think Marcel Dareus could outrun Cam Newton? No. But when 1 on 1 in space guess who made the play?

why on earth would Saban NOT say something good bout them? Denard is a great college player, but far from a great qb.

You shouldn't be talking ish with blueblood programs; you're not on our level.

Know your place. Auburn fans talking trash to Michigan fans(, 'Bama fans, or any other blueblood program's fans) is like a yippy Chihuahua barking and growling at a pack of rottweilers.

Get on our level. Get some more history and tradition, then we'll talk.

    Until then, muzzle yourself.

Frankly, as Alabama fans were told from 1997-2007.........No one gives a damn about Michigans history. Michigan has been average at best and quite frankly, over the past several years, Auburn has been a better program in a better conference. Truth. Auburn is on your level. Recruits don't care about history and tradition. Its all about what the current staff can sell them on. Auburn has history and tradition. You should read about football outside of your own team every once and awhile and educate yourself.

  • The only reason Michigan can even claim BlueBlood status is because of wins. They have 1, yes 1 National championship since 1949. Auburn has had 2 since then. Plus 1 that that anyone actually cares about. A very recent one.

I love you Michigan fans and all, but doesn't Auburn have just as many national titles and Heismans as you guys?

Not unless Auburn has 11 national championships. But UM and Auburn both do have three Heisman Trophy winners each ... which is 3x as many as Alabama.

    Auburn has history and tradition.

Of course they do, but not as much history (and tradition) as blue blood programs (Ex: Texas, Ohio State, Michigan, USC, or Alabama).
