The topic was the run you had in the 90's. I quoted it for you and everything.

The next lie I'll come up with: Mississippi State will be in the top 3 in the SEC West in the next five years.

well if you say something that is not a fact then it is what?? a freakin lie. o and the whole top 3 in the sec west will happen this year

State has improved there is no doubt, but come on man, we have had 8 first rounders in 2 years...

7/8 of those guys were high 4*-5* players. Granted, you guys sign way more of those kinds of guys than everybody else, but those are the types of players that are most likely going high in the draft (assuming they stay out of trouble and work hard), regardless of where they sign.

This is true whether they play at the Bama/LSU/Floridas of the world, or the South Carolinas (Ingram, Clowney, Gilmore, Jeffrey, Lattimore), Ole Misses (McCluster, Powe), MSUs (Cox), Auburns (Tate, Newton, Lemonier), Georgias (Stafford, Green, Moreno, Rambo, Jones), Tennessees (Berry, Bray, Rodgers, Hunter) or Texas A&Ms (Tannehill, Miller) and Missouries (Daniel, DGB).

Elite HS players will likely be elite college players, even if they go play WR at Georgia Tech.

While that is indeed true, how many first round players did the other schools who recruit at a very high level put in the first round?

Lebron James will never be as good as Michael Jordan, thus we should get rid of his nickname, "The King".

Right, we've all heard the HowardRoarkAU "there's no such thing as coaching" spiel many times now.

There's no such thing as recruiting either. I really am shocked that the school signing way more 5* players than everyone is having many more 1st rounders.

But yes, it's all coaching and NFL development. Just look at how marvelously Bama's players perform at the next level.

You guys have #1 classes every year and you have the most processees every year. What other school recruits/processes at that level?

You think Landon Collins or TJ Yeldon aren't eventually going early in the draft if they'd signed with UAB?

  • Ole Miss has about as much of a chance to land this kid as they do winning a SEC title. Which is ZERO! If your the best prospect in the country and go to Ole Miss you need your head examined.

Every 5* is a top 10 pick, after all.

Not true. Some of them don't pan out (BJ Scott, Tyler Love, Dee Hart), some get in trouble (Michael Dyer), and some just get taken later on in the first round (Dre Kirkpatrick, Stefon Gilmore) and some of them get sick (Shon Coleman).

However, the statistics will clearly show that 5* players are much more likely to be first round selections. Hell, Chizik no more "developed" Cam Newton into the #1 overall pick than Saban "developed" Richardson and Julio into #3 and #6 overall picks, respectively.

If your brother and best friend go there and you say you wouldn't very seriously consider them, you're lying.

Brotherhood helped Saban sign his best recruit in 2011. You guys especially should know the effect it can have on a kid's recruitment.

we won 9 games with a bunch of 2 and 3 star players and a few 4 stars. if that isn't development what is it?

How many 1st rounders, let alone draft picks did that provide?

It's not hard to believe. It's just hard to believe they would choose a Mississippi school over LSU/Bama

Bumphis/Cox are the only ones I truly remember us after. If I'm wrong, I apologize but please quit acting like you develop like LSU/Bama

  • Bama’s recruiting RN as a Jack right? I know a Jack is basically a DE in your scheme but I think most people believe he will grow into a 3-4 DE/DT. Is he ok with playing a 5 Tech? IIRC Mario Edwards eliminated all 3-4 teams from his list last year because he didn’t want to be a 5 tech. I know he was a FSU lock, but these are somewhat similar players.

I know for a 100% fact that 3 of those guys on your list did not have commitable offers from Bama. I can also tell you for 100% fact that we absolutely had Cox #1 on our defensive board. Nick wanted that kid baaaaddd. Not going to get too many away from the Yazoo mafia over there that State wants though.
