Please dude, that is about grades

They don't allow the kind of thugs and ? marks others take chances on cause they simply can't get them into school a lot of times

All kids get into trouble, did you hear what this kid did ? he just cursed at a police office while Rees was getting bagged and tagged

    Certainly goes into the " I don't give a shit " category

Boys will be boys as they say

Of course it gets no thread.....because like Notre Dame the past 25 years, threads and all news regarding the Irish are irrelevant.

Not so and you know it.
Anytime ND is talked about it is always a popular subject....amirite?

  • I am shocked, shocked! CFB players getting picked up? I've never heard of such a thing. Come on! Happens everywhere. Especially in small towns where players MAY BE targeted or singled out.

Cliche, but I was an idiot at that age.

confused This is rehashed every few months; the bit about a D1 program having higher academic standards than the NCAA clearinghouse is true for 1 school and it ain't Notre Dame. Requiring 1 extra foreign language credit does not "higher standards" make. They offer the exact same guys that all the other big-name programs do.

I couldn't give a rats backside that they seem to be having a lot of issues with players getting in trouble with alcohol lately, but the higher standards nonsense gets old when you see guys like Michael Floyd receiving zero punishment.

I only hate 1 thing on this planet worse than ND football, the Yankees. I will argue this one to the death.

News reports over the last five years said that talented players like Randy Moss, Carson Palmer and T.J. Duckett could not get into Notre Dame for academic reasons, and Saracino admits that Notre Dame will not be able to admit every top athlete in the country "Are there going to be young men who are great athletes who we cannot admit? Sure," Saracino said. "...Of the top 100 [recruits], maybe there will be 50 that we can't sign. I don't know whether that number is 20, 30, 40, 60, I don't know.

Davonte Neal, his 700 2-part SAT, and high school transferring ass are laughing in Arizona. So they offer the exact same guys as everybody else, nobody ever doesn't qualify, but half of D1 recruits can't get in?...things that make you go huh. Randy Moss, Carson Palmer, and TJ Duckett not going to ND had zero to do with admissions; those 3 stories have long been debunked.

Moss wasn't admitted because of his involvement in beating the kid.

So you think the head of admissions at ND is lying?

Exactly, Moss lost his scholarship because of his involvement in a race riot. TJ Duckett actually was a good student, like over 3.0 and 1000 SAT. The Carson Palmer story is comedy. He's unequivocally wrong about all 3 examples he used.

You are obsessed. You play that as a trump card or something, when it actually doesn't mean s**t if we keep running trains on you.

Move along, at least you have traditional uniforms with no NOB like the Yankees.

Also, you should be happy about this since it means Golson will be on the field sooner.

  • We have ZERO room to talk about player issues. This is very sad news, this kid is basically a good kid, who did a stupid thing.

Lots of holes in our glass house to be throwing them out....I just hope and pray all these kids, no matter the program, learn their lesson and turn it around.

The director of admissions did not mention those three. Once again do you think he was lying in the article?

BTW, Neil had a 3.2 GPA and was offered by both Duke and Northwestern.

This post is laughable. They had TWO good years. Remind you of anything? It should. 2005-2006 at ND. Stanford will surely digress.

How can you say sanctions don't mean anyhthing? What a silly comment. You are obviously raised or come from a place with no sort of values. So why don't you move along.

Because I have the ability to educate myself with the case and make a decision about what went on, I don't need my hand held by the NCAA. College football players getting money from agents is commonplace. As commonplace as them getting popped for drinking.

What should I feel ashamed of USC because Reggie Bush took money from an agent?

BTW, Neil had a 3.2 GPA and was offered by both Duke and Northwestern.

You do realize that Neal(not Neil) just transferred from one of the top high schools in Arizona to one of the absolute worst so he had a better chance of improving his GPA and getting past the sliding scale because he scored a 700 on the SAT? Duke and Northwestern have the same requirements as everybody else for athlete admissions, so this proves shrug?

The article you posted was flat out wrong in reference to Moss, Duckett, and Palmer, what does that say about the credibility of the rest of it? Sarcino says "I've seen the profiles of the athletes over the 40-plus years and the academic profiles of the classes of football players has not changed. ... " Did he miraculously forget all of the prop 48 kids ND took? Tony Rice, Zorich....Not saying saying he is necessarily lying, but a whole lot of that article is not factually correct and that includes what Sarcino is quoted as saying.
