No more bitching from Big X fans please!

I wasn't trying to make this thread to get on Nebraska fans. It was more over Michigan and Ohio State fans cry because they aren't invited to the game. They have no reason to bitch when they have this big of a disparity in talent to their competitors.

You started it bashing the lower teams in the conference

Scout also had us top 20. Just shows how stupid recruiting rankings are. RATT think about where the majority of the top kids are located, and look where Nebraska is located. You southerners have it so easy with having all those kids so close to home. Also, take in account the weather factor, and it's not as pathetic as you think

I didn't make this as a target to you guys. Read my last post. This was more of an indictment on OSU and Michigan. When you have this level of talent compared to the other schools in your conference, it shouldn't be difficult to go to the Rose Bowl at least.

Well I think that the numbers speak for themselves. You guys are getting spanked by OSU and Michigan and it's not even close.

Yes. Nebraska, with all their history, should be able to recruit nationally at a high level. I am disappointed in them. You should be too.

    Okay.

Nebraska relies on getting kids on campus to have any chance at earning a commitment. With commitments coming earlier than ever before, Nebraska doesn't get that chance with a lot of recruits. Official visits take place during a recruits senior year. What if that kid, his parents or his family can't afford to take the visit? Nebraska is out of the running. The majority of our recruits come from places where they have to fly in. That isn't cheap.

I'm not making excuses. Nebraska was in on some very high quality recruits at the end of the cycle, and we didn't get most of them. We have improved in recruiting every year, and that isn't a trend I see changing.

Actually that is exactly what you are doing. Making excuses for a program that was and should be just as good as any of us. Nebraska isn't a joke when it comes to their history, or money that funnels their way from boosters.

Of course, but the same can be said for every team in the Big Ten. They are all top notch universities and they all play "big time football". They should all be ahead of PSU all things considered.

True. But there are big time kids in PA & along the east coast that will choose PSU because it has been their favorite team growing up. ie Brenneman & Sickels. PA is very fertile, maybe not as much as TX,FL & Cali. But it still turns out it's fair share of studs, that will favor PSU. Also B.O'B is a good coach. Don't really see PSU dropping off.

Urban has been at OSU for one year and Brady has been at Michigan for two.

You need me to explain that for you?

Official visits are paid for so I would hope the kid can afford to see Nebraska when Nebraska is paying for it. If thats your problem, imo you need to change your strategy.

Ohio State is a perennial recruiting power so that Urbs being there only being there for a year is dumb. Michigan recruits well every year as well. You guys recruit way better than A&M the last couple years and lost to them. Your arguments are terrible

Visits prior to the senior year, including the summer before a recruits senior are all unofficial visits. Those are not paid for by the school, and can be very expensive.

I think you misunderstood my previos post.

Reread the last paragraph. I said we were in on high quality recruits and we didn't get them. That is all that matters. Don't see an excuse there.

While I understand all of that, look at the in-state commits for OSU, Michigan and PSU. Only 10 of 25 from OSU were from Ohio, 8 of 27 from Michigan were from MI and 5 of 17 from PSU were from PA. It does make it harder to recruit, but it shouldn't be used as an excuse.

There is no reason why Nebraska shouldn't get a top 15 class 3/4 years and top 25 the other year. Top notch facilities and tradition... plenty to offer.

Nebraska had 1 of 26 recruits from Nebraska commit.

I agree we "should" be able to get top 10-15 classes on a yearly basis. I don't see OT happening more that 2 of every 4 years though. We should always have a top 20 class.

You are arguing against a reason why OSU or Michigan isn't going to run off with the Big X right? Well in Urban's first year he had a probation laden team 12-0. You think you are going to stop Urban all of a sudden? I'll talk to you in about three years.

How you think an argument over a team that went undefeated in your sorry ass conference is somehow going to get worse with Urban as their coach and SUPERIOR talent across the board is a fvcking joke. Nebraska should have stayed in the Big XII. You would have had a chance there. You would be about a fifth or sixth ranked team in either SEC division. Your school is a joke to me, as is the Big X.

I said that OSU and Michigan are going to spank for the rest of the Big X because the rest of you blow in recruiting talent.
