No more bitching from Big X fans please!

I said that OSU and Michigan are going to spank for the rest of the Big X because the rest of you blow in recruiting talent.

I dunno about all that Penn State wasn't supposed to win more than 3 games last year.

  • Teams will still be competitive with Michigan and OSU, but within a few years I just don't know who that third team in the conference will be that can match up with them consistently.

I like your coach, I really do.

There is still a big difference in the talent that some teams have and PSU has. You saw that game against us.

  • Espn was funny. What did I miss? Ratt back tracking like a menstrating woman in a bear attack? Carry on scarlet, you're doing good work here.

What does the old regime have to do with anything? You're more likely to see kids get coached up at Penn St than you are to see busts. That was not the case towards the end of Joe's tenure. Our offense was bad against Alabama, and yes their D was plenty good, but our O was real bad. Our defense outside of the secondary I thought played pretty well. Those defensive coaches are still here. Only difference now is a wide open offense with high end offensive coaching.

Ohio State has 17 ESPN top 300 players, Michigan has 15 ESPN top 300 players and the next closest is Penn State with 3. If you can't make the natty game from here on out, you are fvcking sorry. The invitation to the game is getting handed to you on a platter. Thank god we are about to have the playoff. We would be guaranteed a Big X team every year.

    Who's been bitching? shrug

lol I'm going strictly off of the recruiting rankings, fortunately there's a lot more to football than that.

So you judge a team based on their recruiting rankings? How many 5 stars actually turn out to be worth their billing? Not that many man. You're right Nebraska blows at recruiting talent. Amukamara was a running back in high school that Pelini molded into a first team all-American. Alfonso Dennard was a 3 star that became a starting CB on the Patriots. Lavonte David was an unheralded smallish LB that no other high level programs wanted at LB. He was a two time all-American. So don't tell me Nebraska can't recruit talent. You just refuse to see talent outside of high 4-5 stars

Coaching can overcome some of that (something we didn't have on the offensive side of the ball when we played you guys).

We'll be back up there in the recruiting rankings after the sanctions. As I said before, PSU was on their way to a top 10 class before we got hit by the NCAA.

Okay then when was the last time that Nebraska won something of note? Bama has won 3 of the last four national championships and we haven't been out of the outside of the top five in recruiting rankings under Saban.

Don't tell me that it doesn't matter.

I wasn't trying to make this thread to get on Nebraska fans. It was more over Michigan and Ohio State fans cry because they aren't invited to the game. They have no reason to bitch when they have this big of a disparity in talent to their competitors.

When were OSU and Michigan bitching and crying about being left out of the game? Specifics please.

lol Michigan isn't trying to run the spread. They want a downhill running attack.

Oh, I didn't know you didn't need fast WRs or fast defensive players when you run that scheme.. My bad

  • three parts of the puzzle:recruiting, development, coaching. you need all three to compete on a national level consistently. Bama has that in Saban and co. They get the talent, develop said talent and make the right coaching calls to give that developed talent the best chance to succeed. Ole Miss had a top 10 class years ago under and idiot named Orgeron (damn you Pete Boone) with Freeze his recruiting coordinator actually,we had the talent but lacked the other 2 pieces,in come a tad bit of coaching with HDN and bam back to back cotton bowls, nutt lost the talent and failed miserably. What RATT is saying is that Michigan and OSU have the talent and we know OSU has the coaching so its really on them now to run the conference. You can have all the development and coaching you want but everyone has a ceiling. You can have the best driver and crew in racing but if you dont have the equipment you aint winning championships, one or two races maybe but not championships
