Might be too good to keep of the field, but we are deep at TE and he's coming of the ACL. If he is ready by spring ball like the doctors think, then I think he probably plays this year. The threesome of Carter, James and Breneman is scary, best TE group in the country.

I hope AB redshirts next season as well as Hack.

We got Ferguson on campus, he and Bench can be 1&2 (not in that order), while guys like AB and Hack learn the system.

We have Kyle Carter (stud), Jesse James (stud if he'd censored-ing block), Matt Lehman, and Gary Gilliam if he stays at TE. There's no need to waste a year of his eligibility when we are that deep at the position, unless there are multiple long term injuries.

    JMO though.

Michigan needs better WR's no doubt. But the only players on defense who I'm worried about speed wise are McCray and Stribling. And they won't see the field for at least three years. So again, when it comes to speed (except for WR) I think it's an imagined problem, rather than a real one.

You might be right, but from the games I've seen (not a lot, but a more than a few) you guys dont seem all that fast in the secondary.

I could be wrong, as I'm not a fan of your school obviously and you know the roster/talent better than I do.

This is like saying Tim Tebow would start if he was a better QB... lol

To be fair to James, he mainly played our F TE position which is more of a receiving TE. The kid is 6-7, 275lbs...

He also has the best name in college football. And his father is Rick James, bitch! biggrin

I wasn't trying to make this thread to get on Nebraska fans. It was more over Michigan and Ohio State fans cry because they aren't invited to the game. They have no reason to bitch when they have this big of a disparity in talent to their competitors.

No bitching from me. Gotta earn that shit plain and simple. Like what hoke has done in such a short amount of time, with recruiting and production on the field. Especially with the defense after the richrod regime. I'm actually surprised that dantonio hasn't pulled in some higher ranked classes, I've got a lot of respect for him but recruiting seems to be his biggest weakness (note, if the last statement was posted on tRCMB, 247 would be down for weeks from downvote/server meltdown)

I agree, but I could see AB playing if he's healthy.

O'Brien uses so many tight ends that I wouldn't be surprised either, especially now that Gilliam moved to OT.

Top 10 doesn't mean 10th first of all and secondly did you see what O'Brien did with our talent this year? It will be scary to see him with the talent we'd have with a few top 10 classes.

    Not scary to Buckeye fans.

We'll see. I don't see PSU recruiting nor BoB coaching on our level. I think PSU will have the success of an MSU and a Wisky and a Northwestern.

Its so amusing to read uninformed opinions. Try watching our games next time. Matt Mcgloin gave the Big fits with 1 year of coaching from BOB imagine what Hack will do with 4-5 years of his coaching.

I don't see PSU's problem having anything to do with coaching whatsoever. Their issue is going to be depth once the sanctions really start taking effect.

The one positive thing related to that which nobody mentions is that PSU played with only 67 scholarship players last year. It's not going to be easy, but it's not like we went 8-4 with a full 85.

I mean I could have said made him into the best QB in the BIG, is that less funny to you? I hope so, because it's more funny to me, and it's accurate.

If OBrien can continue to pull in small amounts if high end talent each year he might be able to pull it off. Next recruiting cycle will be the real test I think. Good luck to him.

So of all those prolific passing QBs in the big that he eclipsed, which ones would you say even have a shot at a pro career? McGloin was decent before BoB got there and was probably already a better and more experienced QB than his competition. Big whoop.

What? He was far from decent. McGloin finished as the 10th rated passer in the Big Ten in 2011. In 2012 he ended the year with over 3200 yards, over 60% completion percentage and a 27-5 TD:INT radio.

He made huuuge improvements. You actually had to gameplan for him this year. 2011 he was unwatchable.

I guess we're giving BoB all the credit for that, huh? Because college kids don't make huge leaps from year to year just by virtue of being one year older and more experienced.

Not that kind of progress. He was the worst returning starting QB and turned into the best passer in the league. He has marginal physical tools, but was coached up for success. Do you really think he would have had this success with the previous staff?
