Exactly. Against Bama, McGloin was 1 for 10 for zero yards. When he beat OSU he didn't even have 100 yards. It really is silly to suggest that McGloin simply matured... BOB and Fisher did a hell of a job with him.

I think that they are very close and that they had a real good signing class. Vanderdoes was an awesome pickup for where I think Notre Dame needs to go. Now that you guys are going to the ACC in football, I don't see any other programs outside of Clemson and FSU being real problems. Beamer at VT and their run is coming to an end and we'll see what happens with Miami and this complete fvck up on their investigation by the NCAA (I'm actually rooting for you Miami fans on that. Stick it to those bastards.)

I think that Kelly figured out real quick that he was outmatched in the trenches and with overall depth when it came to playing us. Don't feel bad because most are. I still think that he's going to go hard after some bigger players in the trenches and faster dudes on the edges. Max Redfield and Vanderdoes are the two in your class that stick out to me. Didn't you guys get Shaq Wiggins as well?

Anyway, I think Kelly has that program going in the right direction. I'm not real sure why Notre Dame went the ACC route unless you think of recruiting period. I think it's an easier fit in South Bend with the Big 10 network especially.. I'm assuming that Notre Dame wants those east coast recruits even though they have always been a national recruiting school. Maybe they feel they can sway a few more guys from UF and UGA but that is only speculation on my part.

I have a feeling that as long as Kelly is your coach, Notre Dame is not going to be outside of the top ten very often. With the playoff system coming up, they will have their opportunities.

It wouldn't surprise any of us to have some down years. We are just cautiously optimistic because of how he has recruited and what we have seen him do on the field with average talent. As for him being the next Paterno, no way in hell. I think he really does like coaching at PSU and he is an extremely loyal guy, but at some point that NE job is going to open up in the NFL and he will go hard after it. I would be very surprised if he stayed for all 9 years of his contract, but it's not out of the question.

Well, Saban already was a NFL head coach, so perhaps he didn't have the itch anymore.

I will tell you that BOB grew up in the Boston area, has a ton of family there and absolutely loves the Pats. I have no doubt that he would cut off his left arm to be the head coach there.

Yea, once that Patriots job opens up, if he is offered the job I think it would be extremely difficult for him to turn that down, pretty much is his dream job I'd think.

Well have to disagree. He's still not cutting while running, and we have incredible depth at TE with Wilkerson coming off his RS.

I like him just fine. I just don't think that the couple of months worth or practices he had turned McGloin from poo to this top QB. He's nor a wizard. He's a head football coach.

Then what was the reason for his turn around? Was McGloin the wizard, because it sure wasn't simply natural progression. It was much more than that.

That is a hell of a big gap we are talking about here....
