I'm telling you, don't underestimate the desire for employers to have constant access to their employees.

I've heard it all now lol

I think even the poorest of jobs are going to start requiring them. Being constantly able to be communicated with is about to become necessary.

I don't really know the program inside and out but I am guessing that there is no stipulation on having a job or even looking for one. I have seen the trucks around my town (and the lines of people ) and my first thought is always " wow there is a lot of people who have lunch break at 2 in the afternoon". If I see one today ill stop and try and get a phone. I'll report back. If nothing else it will solve my curiosity.

I don't know why the idea seems to foreign to you. This is the world we've created. Instant gratification, instant communication. Instant. Instant. Instant.

Not that it matters anyway. I won't speak for any other professions, but "KFC" jobs will be replaced by machines long before we concern ourselves with this.

Not for $7 an hour jobs....they won't have company phones lol

Still think you're underestimating it. But like I said, doesn't matter; those jobs are about to be handed over to machines sooner rather than later.

Machines are going to be frying our chicken soon? I can't wait to avoid dealing with rude cashiers that get pissed when you ask them to do their jobs.

It only makes sense. Fast food restaurants focus on speed and efficiency, not necessarily quality. It's basically the same as an automobile assembly line. Which, as we're all aware, is done by machines now anyway. Seems like an obvious transition.

Truth. I see it happening within the next 20 years.

I could see one of the big fastfood chains going totally automated within 10. It's just such a simple transition.

  • we should do automated Public Works Departments.

we could direct 8 trucks via remote control tp park under a tree down a back street & we wouldnt have to pay the dozen or so county or city employees to watch the wind blow. smoke

It's refreshing to know that this isn't a local phenomenon Apparently it's inherent to the job regardless of location.

So you think science is creating a chicken cooking robot right now?

I think it would take a half-decent engineer eight minutes to totally automate the fast food process.

No reason they should be, it would be done for theatrics if they do. The governments way of saying "you should have gave us those tax increases!"

Then it would already be done. I don't see this happening. Maintenance on the machines and paying people to watch over them would be more than the $7 an hour to pay each employee. Fact is payroll isn't a big thing for fast food places.

Not in 10 years it won't be. Menial jobs will be getting replaced sooner rather than later. I'm not saying we're going to wake up one day and all of these jobs will be replaced by robots, but it's coming. Hell, if were talking fastfood, the drink machine in the drive through window is already automated; the machine selects the cup size, ices if, fills it, and lids it.

IDK maybe, sounds weird though. Also sounds like a lot of welfare signups on the way.

There's going to be a "revolution" in a lot of industries, that's for sure. We haven't hit the tipping point yet, but one day it will simply be more cost effective (and more efficient) to use machines instead of people in certain jobs.

The machine will be WAY less likely to screw up your order than a person would, at least in this case.

What do you consider property? Is living in a condo or large apartment property?

When you say property, that can be anything. If you are going to make that argument, you have to specify land property, not just any property.

I think the key word was "owners" ..

"No onions" is the one that always gets them. Especially at McDonald's, they must threaten the lives of their families if they don't put onions on a burger. It's like they don't even hear you.
