North Korea vows nuclear strike against U.S.

  • panic1013 said...

Still not seeing the massive impact on the human race; big impact on N and S Korea sure, worldwide, not really.

I'd be willing to bet whatever puppet govt is set up will not be the smashing success youre imagining.

Exactly what I am talking about.

That's not why we don't care though, we don't care because they're trying to launch tanka toys at us, if it was an actual developed country we'd actually be worried.

It's not about worry. It's about understanding globalization and how much of a lead anchor North Korea is for 1.75 Billion person area that otherwise would become the hub of human innovation over the next 25 years.

Why don't you explain your brilliant thesis?

The Asian markets are crushing innovation without North Korea. Again, please explain how a nation of poverty, hunger and oppression is suddenly going to be the catalyst to spike an already thriving sector.

Do you realize how hard it is to educate people? The United States of America can't even educate the south and you think removing a ruling family is going to fix a country as screwed as North Korea? They'll be used as chinese slave labor just like southeast asia.

This is just stupid. North Korean leaders aren't suicidal, they're power-hungry. The best way to control their own population is to brainwash them into believing that North Korea is an actual world power. In reality, any provocative action will result in North Korea being turned into a smoking crater, and North Korea's leaders know that.

I'm about as scared of this as I am of that guy on a street corner screaming about when the world will end.

    Exactly.

What is worrisome though is the long run. With the United States in decline, we won't be on the Korean peninsula for too much longer...20 years max...once we back out the North will make a move on the South.

Not to mention Asia is hardly the hub of innovation. The Chinese economy for instance is driven by manufacturing and theft.

Ehhhhhh. In many respects, it is. Take Korean and Japanese car manufacturing, for example. There's a reason Toyota, Honda, Hyundai and Kia have such a huge market share - no American or European company has been able to replicate the combination of quality and low cost that those manufacturers have worked on.

When it comes to technology in general, Asian innovation is an undeniable driving factor in many of the major advancements we see.

I'll grant that. But the West is just as big or bigger in many areas. We are probably neck and neck on consumer technology, and are way ahead in medicine, general science etc.

Education is about to totally change over the next 10 years. What's coming will work for anyone including North Koreans who for all intents are still in the Dark Ages.

    Ok, just so were clear:

You enter thread and claim that the majority is ignorant (assuming you're excluding yourself from this remark),

Ramble on about some theory of how once N Korea s liberated the Asian countries will become the center of the world, affecting the entire human race,

And then fall back on a crutch and refusal to explain when asked.

    You convinced me!

Lol not quite, my boss retired from the automotive industry in 99 and was selling parts to large manufacturers all over the world. He would say that if a company had 150 engineers on a project then Nissan would have 30 and still blowing everybody away granted this was the late 70s-mid 90s. It's easy for us as Americans to blame everything on bureaucracy instead of realizing that sometimes we're not the best at everything.

    Ok, just so we're clear:

You entered a thread, took a general statement to be specific.

You acted offended and then offered that you don't understand how an improved NK would improve the region.

    Didn't aim to convince you.

Umm.... You started out acting like it was a bad thing then finished with why we should do it.
