What, that you're stupid, or that cheap child labor is the reason Asian cars are comparatively inexpensive? Yes to the first, no to the second.

Riiiiighhhttt... I'm sure that having no real work regulations (including dirt cheap labor) isn't a competitive advantage for countries overseas. That couldn't possibly be why America outsources so many jobs. It's not about the money at all. It's about quality... & Santa is real.

Ehhhhhh. In many respects, it is. Take Korean and Japanese car manufacturing, for example. There's a reason Toyota, Honda, Hyundai and Kia have such a huge market share - no American or European company has been able to replicate the combination of quality and low cost that those manufacturers have worked on.

When it comes to technology in general, Asian innovation is an undeniable driving factor in many of the major advancements we see.

Actually, an american developed the current car manufacturing structure for Japan. He brought it to american car companies initially, they were not interested in the up front costs and turned him down. Guess those were some pretty poor decisions.

    This thread has been hilarious.

You're implying that a competitive advantage exists due only to child labor when it comes to the manufacture and production of automobiles.

If you can provide me with any evidence for that claim, I'll gladly concede the point.

I wasn't implying anything. I was giving typical ilovelamp responses. (half troll half not) Obviously it isn't a huge factor. Workforce regulations in general (lack of) is their biggest advantage. They can hire basically anyone they want, pay them whatever they want, work them as many hours as they want, use whatever products they want, etc.. Their overhead vs a US company isn't even comparible. Add in a superior product & it's a no brainer.
