  • Couple quick thoughts.

    ND hasn't been this talented in the trenches on both sides of the ball at the same time since the Holtz era.

    ND hasn't been able to get after the QB like this in a long time.

    Some of the major changes at ND include Brian Kelly and his coaching staff going out and not only getting difference makers in the defensive front seven, but also just in general landing bigger players. ND is much bigger from a physical perspective than they've been in the past. More NFL bodies running around.

    ND now has a training table. Been huge for them the last two years.

    I'm not saying this team is as good as Alabama and LSU just pointing out a couple things on why I feel they're on the right track. It was a great win for them tonight against a very physical and good football team on the road.

  • I think so to , the d looks pretty good. The schedule will probably catch up to them this year though, but Kelly is doing a good job so far imo. It will be interesting to see how they look against a good offense though..

  • Great write up, Steve. I agree completely with your points. Looking so much better, but still much room to grow to catch the elites. I feel Kelly is drawing the program and us fans closer, however.

    I've said numerous times that I think OSU, Michigan and ND have the right guys in place at head coach to get the Big Ten/Midwest back among the nation's elite. I love the way each program is recruiting and building their rosters. Tonight I singled out ND b/c they won a game I think most thought they'd lose.
