Please? None Of my friends are, in most eyes I went from 'old friend' to 'huge fag'...I think it's gonna be awesome whether you like opera or not(giant debate being whether it's opera or a musical).

I've only 'seen it' twice, both in high school. Took a few arts appreciation classes where I had to watch it filmed, but after high school I'd consider myself a fan of theatre and 'classic tragedies' alike.

Nothing wrong with appreciating fine art, regardless of the format. I appreciate various operas, musicals, and works of art, and Les Mis falls under that umbrella.

It is arguably the greatest book ever written, so I was going to watch it for that reason.
I liked the Liam Neeson version from a few years ago. Jean Valjean is a certifiable bad-ass in the book though.

My lady is a big musical fan, but I've never seen the musical. I fully expect to end up seeing it. With that said, the cast has quite a few heavy hitters.
Time and change will surely (truly) show How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!

I've seen Les Mis on broadway 4 times. It's insane how good it is... I've seen a lot of plays, shows, etc...and Les Mis tops them all. I can't listen to "singers" of today. They fall so short of what angelic music comes from these people's voices. Truly awesome, but don't know if I'll see the movie. Don't want to be let down.
Anybody see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat? Electric.
It's so awesome to live here in JC...I get to go to the opera, sporting events, parks, rivers, fishing, cafes, bistros, etc etc etc... It's an unbelievable place to be and I feel truly blessed.
Callen, get her the CD for Christmas.

The way they shot it- actors singing live while filming rather that hitting the studio beforehand and then miming- is intriguing.

I'm posting under my mother in laws account but felt obliged to cast myself as one really stoked for the movie. I've seen it on broadway 5 times before and my wife and I are going to charleston this year to catch it there. Nothing wrong with loving beautiful music and art

I live in charleston, might wanna buy a ticket ahead of time just in case because there's only 1 'big' movie theatre.

I agree. It will make the emotion so much more real and the acting should be top notch, but the singing won't be as "pretty" as it is on the stage.
