OT: Casey Anthony

  • They are saying that she may get bail today. Apparently the charges she was convicted on are misdemeanors, IDK though. Likely she will get time served...........................Will have TV show and book deal by Monday.banghead

I haven't followed the story that much and am very glad its over. With that said, how the f*ck did the jury not find her guilty?

The State couldn't prove how she died, evidence that Casey anthony murdered this little girl, forensic science like hairs, finger prints etc.Yes she lied about her little girl being dead, but that doesn't necessarily says she is guilty of murder.I also agree i don't think the prosecution had enough evidence to prosecute her of murder.Again i'm also against the death penalty,i don't think anyone can get any satisfaction murdering an individual. This young lady have been ridiculed for the last few years up to til this court case by being called all kinds of degrading names, that's all people had to go which is disgusting.

Not trying to start a flame war, just a conversation. So do you think it was okay for her to wrap her 2 year old daughters body in trash bags, toss her into the woods, and let animals eat on her decaying carcass while she was out partying?

If the jury seriously found her not guilty, then this country is going down the drain faster than I thought. Yea, her daughter just disappeared and she said nothing about it. Yea, chloroform evidence, search history, and particles in her trunk were just there. She didn't do it. Wow. The people on the jury should be found guilty of being stupid, IMO.

I find it disgusting that in these cases people jump to conclusions and automatically assume a person is guilty(not taking jabs at you personally, just listening to the reactions after). If this type of sterotype continues then yes our country is headed for disaster. What was interesting to me is how the parents lied from the get go,when this case unfolded and supposely they sent private investigators searching for a dead body in the same area the girl was eventually found.

  • Now I'm not saying either way if she's guilty or not... personally I think she is... but she went before a jury of her peers and was found not guilty. If you're going to call yourself a real American you have to support the decision, as wrong as you think it may be, because it was done fairly and judiciously. If you don't like the way it went down maybe it's time to overhaul the justice system a bit.

  • they have no evidence that she killed her daughter, of course she most likely did.

No i don't think that's okay and for that i would like to see her seek a good amount of time for that. But going back to the prosecution ,they didn't prove with out a shadow of doubt that the young lady did any of this.If so it's possible she could of been found guilty on atleast one of those major charges.

Be sarcastic all you want, but as much as I don't like the verdict and think she's guilty, my opinion and agenda are not worth more than a fair and judicious trial. The fact so many Americans seem to not care about the latter scares the hell out of me.

That's the problem though, she will likely serve very little time, if any at all, since all she was convicted of was misleading the police.

They claimed the child accidentally drowned, but why didn't she call 911?

The kid was found in a garbage bag with ducttape over the kid's face. This was a clear murder. The real sad part about this is that the jury wouldn't convict without CSI-type scientific evidence, which is pathetic when the DNA evidence was compromised by the length of time the body was not found.

Hell, the kid was found with ducttape over her face, but this jury found her guilty of child abuse.

Pathetic. The jury should be ashamed of their lack of common sense and stupidity about CSI-type evidence. People don't understand that there aren't fingerprints, hairs, and semen on everything when a crime is committed.

(Edit: The sheriff is on TV telling people not to riot. Don't riot, guys. lol)

This is what I cannot understand. The jury is admitting to the fact that Casey put duct tape on her daughters mouth, wrapped her in garbage bags, put her in the trunk of her car, and dumped her in the woods, yet she is somehow innocent. What kind of person would do that her death was an accident?

I'm sorry that I support the American judicial system under which she was given a fair trial and found not guilty. I don't like the verdict but that doesn't change the fact she was given just that. I've become very confused on what part of being American really makes me American.

That is just sad dude,no offense, everyone in your eye is presumed guilty?Solid Evidence is what tells a juror if a person is guilty or not.

As I said before, I don't like the verdict. But like I also said before, she had AFAIK a fair trial infront of a jury of her peers and was found not guilty. Unless something comes out that the trial was somehow cheated or unfairly influenced, I will assume that justice by our definition was served. Moral justice is between her and her Creator.

How are you supposed to get solid evidence off of a significantly decayed body? It was so decayed that they couldn't discern a cause of death.

Correct all she's been convicted of was lying to detectives and police about her daughter being deceased.I hate to say this dude prosecution based on forensic science couldn't prove she ducted tape her little girl and tossed her body in a wooded area.I believe she knows who killed her girl and the way she died. And she should serve more time, but they are giving her already time served which she could be out very soon.

Serious question. I know she cannot be tried for the same crime twice, but could she be prosecuted for anything dealing with the disposal of her daughter's body or trying to cover it up?
