The fact that Methuselah lived to be 969 years old is just one example of the "non-literalness" of biblical time periods.

You don't know that methuselah didn't live to be 969. Extrabiblical evidence to support the long life spans of the people in Genesis is found in the Sumerian King List. This list mentions a flood and gives the length of the reigns of kings before and after a flood. There are many striking parallels between the Sumerian King List and Genesis, such as a flood event, numerical parallels between the pre-Flood biblical patriarchs and the antediluvial kings, and a substantial decrease in life span of people following the flood.

I don't see where you could get that by taking a literal interpretation.

And what does it describe? Sorry the term dinosaur was not around back then. Their are also many non-biblical stories of men and dragons that are described to look like dinosaurs.

I knew someone would come along and argue that he did.

You have no argument that he didn't. Besides stating it as fact you gave nothing that shows he didn't

Could be anything. I'm not the one taking a non-literal interpretation to fit my agenda.
