  • Anybody heard much on this yet? I'm a sci-fi junkie as well as a JJ Abrams fan, so naturally I'm very interested...

Time and change will surely (truly) show How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!

  • TV shows are becoming crazy good looking.

I really like Giancarlo Esposito as well.

    I'll probably watch.

  • I have been seeing some stuff about this lately but not really sure what it is about.

I am not really a huge JJ Abrams fan. Outside of Fringe I haven't watched any of his tv shows.

Could be he's just attached to it in name only. I really like the premise. Hopefully the execution is equally as good.

Abrams is listed as a writer on IMDB. That could just be for the pilot, but we'll see.

Watched a few episodes of Lost. I didn't like it.

  • I will give it a chance, but he seems to be a miss/hit/miss/hit/miss kind of guy so who knows.
Person of Interest is great, but Alcatraz and Undercovers were horrible.

    shaunsimpson

  • The premise is based on a science fiction book from the '60s that I can't remember the title of.

It looks like they crossbowed it up to get the Hunger Games crowd into it.

Even without conductivity you could make 2 stroke diesels work with shotgun shell starters which is old '30s tech.

More hits than misses. I never watched an episode of either Alcatraz of Undercovers, but I really enjoy Person of Interest, as well as Lost and Alias.

In general he seems to stretch the idea of what broadcast television is a ton more than most. I love shows that have an actual overarching storyline instead of just a series of one-offs, so if he hits only 50% of the time, but keeps pushing out great shows once a year, so be it. Even his crap shows are light years better than 99% of reality TV.

  • The premise is a little bit confusing, but doesn't look bad. Really don't like the actors in it though.

I was going to say the same thing about the actors. To be fair most of the Lost actors were relatively unknown actors and that worked out well. The only one from the tailor I recognized was the uncle from the movie Fracture. Fox is notorious for pulling the plug early on shows so I guess we'll see.

TV Shows only I would say that 4 of 9 were for sure hits and I don't know about Felicity so it could be 5 of 9 - it did have 80+ episodes.

    Hits:
    Fringe
    Person of Interest
    Lost
    Alias

    Misses:
    Alcatraz
    Undercovers
    Six Degrees
    What about Brian

    2008-2012 Fringe
    2011-2012 Person of Interest
    2012 Alcatraz
    2010-2011 Undercovers
    2004-2010 Lost
    2006-2007 Six Degrees
    2006-2007 What About Brian
    2001-2006 Alias
    1998-2002 Felicity

The hits are four shows i really enjoy, can't really say a whole lot about the flops. I think given its longevity uou have to consider Felicity a hit, I'm just not surre who it was a hit with. Ha.

When i first saw stuff on Alcatraz i really wanted to like it, but after the poor reviews I never even got up the motivation to watch it.

  • I'm waiting until the end of season 1 to determine whether or not I'll watch it. I've been burned one too many times with shows like the Event/Flash Forward/etc of sci-fi shows that don't last and end on a cliffhanger.

The Event was amazing. Still puzzles me why it was canceled. Stupid viewers who can't think while watching a tv show

Amazing wouldn't be the first adjective I'd use to describe The Event.

premise reminds me of some SM Stirling books that I have never read since SM Stirling is a crappy writer. Those were written in the last ten or so years I think.
