Or more drivers, then over time more and more dont renew insurance that results in a higher % of uninsured accidents. That means higher chance someone gets screwed by having to pay for car repairs caused by an uninsured driver.

Also, this will create more voter fraud.

Ah, voter fraud. The one thing the right keeps going back to, despite there being effectively no evidence of it occurring.

There's infinitely more evidence of vote-rigging and election fraud than voter fraud. Congratulations on outing yourself as a buzzword-repeating drone with no critical thinking abilities.

Understandable.. That's when the elephant in the room comes into play. Make these bums (who are able) work for these government funded hand outs. Make prisoner work programs a bigger part of our industries. (Employers can pay the government at a discount price for certain jobs) 99% of people don't realize how much our government pays for these illegals childcare, housing, food stamps, etc. Yes there'd be a shortage of workers to start but we could get the kinks worked out eventually. Obviously the system we have in place won't work.

Haha, pot meet kettle. You say I cant think for myself as you regurgitate your party stance. The whole point is the left's unwillingness to care if people follow laws but always want to create more. Why are you so against laws that are on the books being followed? Yet you and your new friend act like giving an illegal alien a drivers license will now make them start being compliant with insurance regulations and other laws. Get real. They are just putting more uninsured drivers on the road.

You picked 2 words out of my post to respond to but conveniently ignored the rest. Of course you think illegals would never vote with a US drivers license and I'm not surprised that you resort back to name calling either.

There's not any more lack of law-enforcing by the "left" when it comes to things like giving illegals DL's than there is when the "right" provides them sub-minimum wage jobs in things like the construction industry. The only real difference is we never want to talk about the latter because it's almost become taboo to speak of it.

So if I understand your post correctly, you are saying that only Republicans work in construction and only Republicans hire illegal immigrants at lower wages?

I'm saying your average Republican is more likely to let a legal issue slide in the pursuit of profit than a Democrat would. A Democrat would be more likely to let said issue slide in the pursuit of government regulation.

That was in response to the ones saying that the law would put less uninsured drivers on the road while ignoring that they broke laws to get here. That's why they are called illegals. People forget that detail and act as if they would abide by state insurance regulations. My point is if illegals are given a drivers license (a US citizen document) then based on their lack of interest in following our laws then you have to expect that a large number of them will also not follow our insurance laws.

If the Democratic Party stance is that you don't understand legal policy, then yes, I'm regurgitating my party stance.

Your characterization of all illegal immigrants as scofflaws is ridiculous - just because someone entered the country illegally doesn't mean that they don't want to comply with American laws and live as American citizens would.

As for me picking words out of your post, the entire first part was just unsupported speculation that wasn't worthy of a response.

No offense, but that sounds naive. Both sides will do what humans do and make their decision based on how it benefits them. That's like saying Democrats don't try to find tax deduction loopholes because they want the gov't to collect more tax revenue.

According to the new law, if they can't supply proof of insurance, then in addition to being charged with "driving without insurance", any illegals that possess these drivers licenses will automatically be charged with "driving without a license"

Driving without a liscense will put you in county jail for a few months.

Why risk going to jail for $30.00 a month insurance payments?

This isn't a actual Drivers Liscense either, it will be clearly marked "not proof of identification"

Why can't a state choose to regulate how people drive on its streets when the Federal Government refuses to clarify the legal status of "illegals" and/or refuses to deport these people?

Its a public safety issue. If this law means that illegals will learn to stop when a school bus has flashing red lights, or they learn the difference between a "Yield" sign and a "Stop" sign, then whats the big deal?

The US is not going to deport 11 million people. Most of these people will become legal residents in a few years anyway.

I'm sorry, but you obviously haven't heard that all illegals are evil doers and law breakers. They definitely didn't come here with the same dreams as all of our ancestors.

Perfect, I'm glad you said that. Because now we've established that both sides will abuse the legal system, including when it comes to illegals, if it's in their best interests to do so.

Sorry, I find party-vs-party arguments very silly when both sides are just as guilty as the other.

Yeah, I mean, these horrible scumbags don't even pay taxes! Oh, wait...

Undocumented immigrants pay more taxes than Romney; thus, supporting social security, Medicare, and unemployment services more than Romney.

I'm not characterizing all into 1 category. I know many good people from Mexico but I also know many sorry ones that skate around our laws and don't care. For every good Mexican, Canadian, American, etc there is a bad one. If you give 1 million drivers licenses out then a large number of them would not follow the rules. Do you disagree?

Plus, illegals aren't just Mexicans. I live in a place full of Haitians, Dominicans, Asians, etc. If I went to their country then Id be expected to follow their laws or I'd be in jail. If I wanted a drivers license from there then Id expect to have to prove my legal right to be there.

Obviously critical thinking hurts his head.

The logic he is using is...they came here illegally, so why will they follow driving laws?

    Obviously stupid logic to use.

    Example....

I often enjoy drinking a beer on the way home from work while driving my car, so whats to stop me from raping and murdering my neighbor, after all I clearly have no regard for the law.

Who cares where immigrants are from? I'm not the one differentiating between countries of origin, that's all you.

As for large numbers not following the rules, what's better: 1 million unlicensed and uninsured drivers, or 500,000 licensed and uninsured and 500,000 licensed and insured?
