You talking about the old vinings inn?

No, it's really Smyrna where I am talking about. Across from the Atkins Park there is a little bar there called The Tavern. Robinson must live somewhere near there.

    Lol she's a bitch.

    Can back that up.

I had sideline passes and ended up standing next to her. All she did was bitch out her crew and look in a hand mirror.

  • Hung with the Allman Bros Band a few brief times.

Some folks who weren't quite famous when I met them also.

  • Because of where I have worked and friends of mine that are successful business men/women I have actually met quite a few famous people. I would guess that The Who, Mel Gibson, or Sting (the singer) might be the most famous world wide

  • Was a caddie for Paul Bear Bryant & Terry Bradshaw at the George Lindsey (Goober on The Andy Griffith Show) Celebrity Golf Tournament at the ArrowHead Country Club in Montgomery, Alabama in 1979. Also present at the event was Ken Stabler, Bart Starr, Joe Namath all who played at Bama, under the Bear.

  • Off the top of my head:

Dwight Howard at the Orlando airport.

President George W. Bush at the Ames Straw Poll in '99.

I played basketball against Harrison Barnes when he was in middle school. He was 13 and I was 18, and he owned me.

In college I watched the long jump event of a track meet at the U of Chicago while sitting next to and making small talk with Bob Beamon.

Other politicians: Chuck Grassley, Tom Ganske, Allan Keyes, and several others that I can't think of right now.

The Rev. Charles Swindoll did a chapel series at my college for a few days in '08 or '09. I met him after one of the talks he gave.

I'm sure I'm forgetting someone, but that's my list.

  • Met and shook hands with Richard Nixon at my next door neighbor's house in 1969.James Byrnes (neighbor) turned 90 years old and in celebration Pres. Nixon and the First Lady paid him a visit. All members of The Marshall Tucker Band. Personally given backstage passes by Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings after I explained how I cooked their collard greens for their preconcert meal in 1977.The 80s were a blur, shared too much tequila with Jimmy Buffett who married a friend earlier.Played golf with Alice Cooper during Hootie and the Blowfish Monday after the Masters tournament in the early 90s. The coolest and funniest guy you would ever want to meet and kept me in tears from laughing all day.Played with Dan Marino the following year, and he was the most arrogant a-hole I have ever met.Met Ernie Els about 5 years ago in my brothers office in Charleston,SC.Ernie had the flu and was going to Kiawah Island for some practice rounds. My brother's partner, not knowing who he was, asks Ernie" why he was in Charleston".? Ernie is an extremely nice person and replies that he wants to really practice on the finer points of his game.My brothers partner then tells Ernie " That's great, just come on back whenever you get to Tiger's level". Funny thing though,Ernie always comes by whenever he is town to see my brother whether he is ill or not.He is a real gentleman.
