It should be lasting you much longer than that. Are you managing your apps? As in, shutting them down when you are done in your task manager? Look into some launcher apps. I use GoLauncher, and I use its task manager. I have it on one of my pages. I just click a button and it clears and shuts down anything hat is running. I hit the button multiple times a day. Nothing is stock on my Note, and it can last me all day if I let it. If you are watching constant video, then there isn't much you can do. Video uses battery, no matter what brand of phone you have.

As far as spell check goes, I'm not sure.

See the word"sure" that I just typed? I actually typed surw, but it fixed it for me when I finished the word. Isn't that the same thing as spell check?

I'll look into some of those app managers. Like I said, it's just gonna take some time to get used to. It just has the predictive text which I hate. Is not a deal breaker by any stretch but I just find it annoying. I love the fact that music is free and most apps are free that i use.

I was so glad I could separate myself from iTunes. I just download any song or album right to my phone for free.

Can the AT&T store transfer my contacts from my iPhone to my S3?

Yes. They have some type of machine that they hook both phones up to, and it transfers contacts. I watched some girl that was from a 3GS to the Galaxy Note do it in the store.

How do you download music for free?

Can you find pretty much any song you want?

Yes. Plenty of apps to download music from and I have found all the songs I want.

Android isn't handcuffed like iOS. There are 3rd party apps all over the place. Torrents, downloaders, ect....

You can download any song you want, 5 seconds later its on your phone ready to listen to. No plugging it in to your computer for iTunes, no buying on iTunes, none of that nonsense.

If you haven't messed around with a new Android, your mind will be blown by how much more you can do on it than you can on your iPhone. I was with iPhone for 3 years, and gave myself a swift kick in the nads when I got my Note and saw how much better it was.

I'm heading to the AT&T store to get the S3 right now.

If you can suggest some good music download apps I will check this thread later and be very appreciative :)

  • I just use mp3 downloader. There is probably some better ones, but that is what I use.

Check out the Note 2 while you are there as well. If you are looking to spend slightly less and still want a fabulous phone, the HTC One X is another great phone.

  • I got the S3. I like it, but I'm not a fan of not being able to do group messages without downloading an app. When I send a group message to people with iPhones, all their responses come back individually.

    Marshall Nole

  • And why does this phone HAVE to crop your pictures to add them to the background? Why can't it scale the pictures like the iPhone does?

Sorry, what exactly does this phone do better than the iPhone? I haven't found a feature yet. I guess I have 14 days to return it.

  • Apple products are well made, but the lack of adaptability and customization is awful.

I have the Razr Maxx HD and it's amazing. I charge it at night and can be on it pretty much all day (Pandora, Games, Web, Calls) and it usually doesn't get below 20%.

I liked the S3 a lot too when I was looking, but the battery of the Razr puts it over the top.

  • I've had my S3 for about 5 days now and I love it so far. I'm still figuring out things to do with it. I upgraded to it from the S1 and the difference is crazy. The speed is out of this world. Faster than my computer sometimes. I would definitely recommend.

  • Put me in the S3 fan column. But to be honest part of why I love it is because I use a lot of Google products now. If I look up a place on Google maps at home, it will automatically send it to my phone. I just open the tap and let the gps handle it from there. Voice control for the camera is boss too. Lets me take the picture I want without the phone slipping as I try to hit the button. I also use Google calendar and Chrome, so the fact that they sync up my phone, tablet and online is nice. Personally I don't have a problem with the battery life. Like most phone it will depend on what you are doing with it and the apps you fun. When I am at work my phone roams and it will take 8 or so hours to go from 100 to 20 percent. But in that time I only have 2 or 3 apps actively accessing the internet.

A buddy at work got one and I couldn't agree more. It isn't that much bigger, size wise, vs the s3 (it sounds like it is, but at the end of the day not so much), so he slips it into his pocket just fine. Damn thing is a beast.

If you are on Verizon, there is a new Droid DNA coming out that is worth a hard look too.

The biggest drawback to the Droid DNA is the lack of removable battery. Don't know what HTC was thinking with that decision. I'm making the switch from iPhone to the Note II at the end of the month. Can't frigging wait.

Although... I'm tempted to try and hold out a little longer for the Galaxy S4 that's supposed to come out next March/April. The specs rumored for that look filthy.

Mr. Stache above said that he has been able to do group texting like done on iphones. May want to see what he has done. If it is that same GO SMS Pro app that allows him to do it, I wonder if it is as glitchy for the S3 as it is for my Charge. If someone is sending me a text while I am trying to type, my phone freezes. It's BS

  • LOL!!! This phone can't do the most basic things! Who ever thought a phone this day in age wouldn't be able to send a photo through text? I did this all day on my iPhone.

I send photos all the time on my Note. S3 can do anything an iPhone can do, and more. Sounds like you aren't technologically sound enough to get the full experience from an Android. You should take it back and get an iPhone. Its better for people that don't want much out of a phone.

Are you saying your GS3 won't send a pic via text message? You'd be wrong if that's what you're saying.

I get the message 'MMS not supported by network' every time.

I've tried pics I've taken on the camera, pics I ported over from my old iPhone, etc.

A retard can send pics through text. This phone is either jacked or they f-cked my account up at the store when transferring it over to the new phone.

I had to call them last night to get text messages to work. They forgot to get that set up for my new device. Maybe that is what is happening here. Should have expected this crap with a Miami fan doing the transfer for me.
