That's the dumbest plan I ever heard.

I guess you would rather be smitten(Not sure if that is the correct term, maybe smited if that is a word?) and die a terrible death and go to hell?

The verse explicitely says that male-male sex is wrong. It says nothing about female-female sex.

Read foot notes and try again. Or are you not getting the point that it extends to all homosexuality. You have a tremendously strong agenda.

Smote, I believe is the correct tense.

And I would rather not go to hell, but if I don't believe in allah i go to hell and if i don't believe in Zeus I go to hell and if I don't believe in Thor I will never exist in paradise (vallhalla), and if i don't attain a proper zen state I will come back as a dung beetle and all of those things are mutually exclusive.

Well I'll put it like this. If you're right and I'm wrong then we'll both just die and nothing happens. But if I'm right and you're wrong, well........ I wouldn't want to be in that position.

    Not at all.

But just for funsies, I'll give you that the bible says homosexuality is wrong and none of the other OT garbage applies.

Now I'd like you to tell me why:
    1. The fact that homosexual sex is wrong makes homosexual marriage illegal (keeping mind the difference between right and wrong vs. legal and illegal).
    2. Why, in a secular country, we should be using religious texts as the foundation for our laws.

So in other words, you think because homosexuals can't procreate they shouldn't be able to get married.

No, I think because homosexuals can't procreate it is a personal choice they have made and because it's a sexual preference that it shouldn't be protected by the government as a viable family option. If someone starts having sex with animals because they choose to that is their sexual preference (never mind that is against the law - just like same-sex marriage in NC)... should they be able to get married because they choose to enjoy each others company. Procreation is poof that you are a viable match in nature. If nature was so approving of homosexuality then why can't homosexuals produce offspring with out the aid of modern science? Homosexuals are leeching onto Heterosexuality because we prop them up. Without us they don't exist. Homosexuals can't make more homosexuals without the help of science or heterosexuals. To me that is proof enough that it is a choice and a bad one at that.

  • Wait, wait, wait, wait. I asked where in the Bible it was quoted by God that homosexuality was an "abomination." I was given an example from Leviticus and Genesis. But, earlier ITT someone said (re: the Old Testament):

"Educate yourself, kid. That is what it says in the Old Testament. The Old Testament is the Law of God given to Israel, not Christians. Jesus fulfilled the law by dying on the cross hence we have the new testament in which Jesus said that "it's not what's outside and goes in that makes you unclean. It's what's inside and comes out." therefore I can eat all the dag'um shrimp and pork BBQ my heart desires."

So which is it? Do we, as Christians abide by the Old Testament or not?

Gay marriage consists of 2 consenting partners who are intelligent enough to provide informed consent.

Beastiality consists of 1 partner who is intelligent enough to provide informed consent and whatever animal they are screwing.

They are in no way related.

Further, the fact that homosexuals can't procreate is completely unrelated to whether it is a choice. Once again, please look into the physiological differences between homo and heterosexuals.

Lastly, you continue to bash homosexuals for being unable to procreate. If that is the standard for legitimicy in marriage, why are hetersexual couples not required to submit to fertility tests before marriage? Why are couples with a woman in menopause allowed to remain together? They are just as infertile.

You are equating homosexuality to a birth defect or ailment... If you would like to do that be my guest, but I don't believe that homosexuals would really be happy with that analogy.

Now if you choose to be infertile like a homosexual does by being in a sexual relationship with someone of the same sex rendering them unable to bear children without the aid of modern science then that is a bit different then being born unable to conceive or shooting blanks.

I'm sure homosexuals just choose to have the following physiological differences from heterosexuals:
Gay men report, on an average, slightly longer and thicker penises than non-gay men.[50]
Gay men and straight women have, on average, equally proportioned brain hemispheres. Lesbian women and straight men have, on average, slightly larger right brain hemispheres.[51]
The VIP SCN nucleus of the hypothalamus is larger in men than in women, and larger in gay men than in heterosexual men.[52]
The average size of the INAH-3 in the brains of gay men is approximately the same size as INAH 3 in women, which is significantly smaller, and the cells more densely packed, than in heterosexual men's brains.[31]
The anterior commissure is larger in women than men and was reported to be larger in gay men than in non-gay men,[30] but a subsequent study found no such difference.[53]
Gay men's brains respond differently to fluoxetine, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor.[54]
The functioning of the inner ear and the central auditory system in lesbians and bisexual women are more like the functional properties found in men than in non-gay women (the researchers argued this finding was consistent with the prenatal hormonal theory of sexual orientation).[55]
The suprachiasmatic nucleus was found by Swaab and Hopffman to be larger in gay men than in non-gay men,[56] the suprachiasmatic nucleus is also known to be larger in men than in women.[57]
The startle response (eyeblink following a loud sound) is similarly masculinized in lesbians and bisexual women.[58]
Gay and non-gay people's brains respond differently to two putative sex pheromones (AND, found in male armpit secretions, and EST, found in female urine).[27][59][60]
The amygdala, a region of the brain, is more active in gay men than non-gay men when exposed to sexually arousing material.[61]
Finger length ratios between the index and ring fingers may be different between non-gay and lesbian women.[55][62][63][64][65][66]
Gay men and lesbians are significantly more likely to be left-handed or ambidextrous than non-gay men and women;[67][68][69] Simon LeVay argues that because "[h]and preference is observable before birth[70]... [t]he observation of increased non-right-handness in gay people is therefore consistent with the idea that sexual orientation is influenced by prenatal processes," perhaps heredity.[31]
A study of 50 gay men found 23% had counterclockwise hair whirl, as opposed to 8% in the general population. This may correlate with left-handedness.[71]
Gay men have increased ridge density in the fingerprints on their left thumbs and pinkies.[71]
Length of limbs and hands of gay men is smaller compared to height than the general population, but only among white men.[71]
